Its definitely going to affect my paycheck, big time
Its happen very often that my runs are short ,or no work at all
Now on the top of not wanted brakes during the week time
I will have to take a reset 34 starting July 01as per new HOS
For me personally its a devastating lost of income and reset on the parking far from home
There is a massive hiring drivers from South Africa ,because many american drivers will not be able to survive on short hr of work
Do you guys think that 34 hr reset will affect you too as well
Is this new 34hr rule reset every week going to ruin your life

34 hr restart is NOT mandatory under new rules.skootertrashr6 and Sly Fox Thank this.

Where are you getting your information from that you will have to take a 34hr reset every week? The rule change for it is to limit the 34hr reset to once per week, not make you take 1 per week.
Busasamurai Thanks this. -
it's kind of a mixed bag.
some people think it's going to work one way. while others think it's going to work the other way.
it's really no diferent then now. other then it will be now limited to once a week. how it's going to work for you van guys who sit occasionaly more then once a week will be the question. and that time stamp that has to be met also could get tricky.
the 34 is really an added bonus to the rules that were early 2000's. no more recap if enough off time went by. but the rest of the program was really designed by a bunch of monkeys with there heads up there butt. and now there's new monkeys. all they're doing is making things worse.
and yep, it's not required if you don't use up your 70 -
you know you can just take 24 off and continue to recap
never have to worry about the new 34 that could be 44
depending what time of day you start it -
Actually the rule is going to effect the drivers who take their 34 at home over the weekend. Otherwise it will have very little effect. Although I don't quite understand the reasoning behind only 1 restart a week. It makes no logical sense. Oh wait...that's government in general...move along

I'll probably lose about 10-15% income because of this, thank these activist groups, hope they rot in hell.

I heard the FMCSA clowns on Road Dog one day saying that more than 70 hours in an 8 day period is way too much to work. I wish they would put us on a 7 day schedule instead of 8 with these rues so we could at least try to have a "normal" (respectively) work week like every other human being.
-
Not always, most of the time I have used my hrs up by end of sixth day. So if I start Monday by the end of the day Saturday I'm out of hrs, and I don't have any hrs dropping off until Monday at midnight. But yeah the having to have to 0100-0600 could really screw ya.

If you have run out of hours in 5 days youve been BUSY and had to of made some money!! Most company drivers dont even burn 70hrs in 8 days.............
cowboy_tech and Cranky Yankee Thank this.
