You do know that some companies have "in-house" training? You have to make a commitment to work for that company x number of months, and if you quit or are terminated they'll go after you to repay the "tuition," but this system does exist. I wouldn't do it with certain outfits: Swift would be a good example... I've seen many negative posts regarding their in-house training program, and the company ain't so hot anyway. I only mentioned U.S. Xpress because I know they have a similar program, and, as far as larger companies go, I've seen others a whole lot worse. Just throwing this your way so you can consider every angle of your scenario, 10?

That's the cost of living in the worlds largest waiting room.!!

Not alot of choices down here.

Perhaps in a month or so, we'll have alot of hurricane clean-up to do.

That pays well, or maybe even oil clean-up, that pays even better !!

Or maybe both, I'm afraid !!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was going to roadmaster last year; we had a state ran testing center in the lot right next to ours.

They had a lot of Swift drivers retesting and failing over on that lot.

When we asked our instructors about it, we were told that Swift had been blanket issuing "passes" on the CDL road test exam for their in house program and that ODOT had revoked their authority to run a testing center.

They claim to offer lifetime placement assistance IIRC.
