Haul my pup around on my lead trailer regularly, 28' trailer on top of a 32' trailer...4 straps over it and away I go, a lot of guys use 3 but I prefer a 4th

We haul allot of stacked trailers, Company Policy is Chains only NO straps. 8 chains for 3 trailers and 4 chains for 2 trailers. All chains must go threw the stake pockets. Again this is company policy i have no idea what the law is, but i wouldnt even consider useing straps even if it wasnt a policy.

In Desert Storm we hauled stacked Army flatbed trailers with no chains or straps at all. A lot of 'em were way over 13' high. The dollies crank down on you while they're in transit and they move around a lot. Never lost any but more than once we arrived in KKMC with one or more trailers' dolly legs hanging over the side of the bottom trailer.

In the Army no one really cares. If it falls off it falls off.

He might tell you a funny story from his previous company when he was saftey there.

There's no reason to get all fancy angling the chains on the sides. Cross chain/strap the front. Chain axles to trailer below, and all the rest is for show.

Most 4 inch straps have a much higher WWL rating and are stronger than the chains most flatbedders throw. So straps are not only ok, their most likely better.

I prefer chains, they are adequate, and they don't vibrate in the wind like straps.

I'm not a flatbedder, but wouldn't straps fray from rubbing on the edge the trailers? It's a question even thought it doesn't sound like it. Having a bad morning with keyboard

Yes, but i supose you could use the tiny black edge protecters under the rub rail.. i dont like straps they loosen up and slid on smooth stuff like a metal trailer
