I posted awhile ago that I was trying to get back into trucking. I've started a medication regimen and I'm feeling so much better since the last time I posted. Thanks to all who wrote back to me with encouraging words. Trans Am seems to be the only company thats interested in bringing me on right now. My question is, is there anything encouraging or disconcerting that I should know about before I give the green light to go with them?
Is Trans Am a good company to start with?

What medications are you on ?
Speed us up on who you are.
Welcome to this trucking site. Donuts to the left and coffee to the right. -
I'm on 25mg of selexa, 100mg of trazodone, and 25mg of latrimigine. My dr said that its all legal with dot. I got my cdl back in april and i was with maverick for two months before my depression and anxiety disorders set in. I left, stupid, and went to a local company as a jockey. It was all going well until I suffered a massive nervous breakdown that put me in the hospital. After I was released, that company fired me almost immediately. I started meds in november and I have been doing much better. Now I want to get back in the truck and get moving.

Just one of the drugs I checked and found this.......
trazodone.....
Trazodone may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert. -
I only take the trazodone at bedtime, along with the latrimigine. Then take one selexa when I wake up.

My guess is that they will not be hiring you.
Why do you think they fired you at the other company?
Here is something to read on this.....

I'd think your first step would be to verify if any of those medications will disqualify your DOT physical requirements.
With some medications it doesn't matter when you take them... just that you do. -
I take the Celexa to keep my temper under control due to a neurological disorder that happened from a car wreck when I was 5 years old. I was in a coma for 5 days and the medical technology did not exist then that they have now. I get an attitude with people if I am pushed to far and the doctors put me on that to keep me mellowed out. At least that is what they tell me. So that one is legal for DOT but not sure about the other two. If it impairs your reactions then I would definitely check with the DOT or the doctor who gives you your physical.

There is a guy on here who used to go by Trans Am Pete but now I think he changed his name to Cranky Yankee. I think he works for Trans Am you can email him and he might be able to give you some information. Chinatown seems to know a lot about some of these companies you can check with him also. Hope this helps.
