People think cause it pays 100k it's the holy grail of a job. What they don't tell you is cameras, elogs, lane departure devices, GPS your every movement, no cell phone policy, you can't wear your uniform in public after work or your fired, can't shift over 1500, no idling or your in trouble, you can't have facial hair, scrape a trailer your fired, slide off the road cause of weather your fired, leave your keys in the ignition go see the safety manager, one incident your fired, micro management. These are all facts to these so called holy Grail jobs. By the time you reach retirement your health with be shot cause of being stressed out everyday. No way to live in my eyes.

The holy grail of trucking is the job that works best for you and makes you happy. I drive dedicated day cab. 8.5 to 9 hour day, off all weekends. Make 52k a year. Drive 211 miles to the same customer, drop and hook and then drive back 211 miles to the yard and park it. That's the holy grail for me. It might be hell to some other drivers.

Sounds like the perfect job to me, but like you said, its different for everyone. I am local, but different routes and about 10 stops a day . 1 Stop and same route daily sounds great to me

Sorry, it's not all Walmart. Some of it is though. I meant to say all jobs that people considered holy grail jobs as previous stated by other people. Just to clear that up.

The majority of posts in this thread are so off base, as to be humorous yet sad at the same time.

Is it the best trucking job out there?? No, as that is a very subjective and personal thing.
Is it one of the best trucking jobs out there?? Yes, from the way you are treated, to the pay, to the equipment, to the job security.

I honestly think the aura of what a company that has very high hiring standards is, causes people to make ridiculous statements about them. There is no perfect job, but this is a pretty #### good one, and my much less than 60-year-old behind plans on retiring from here. :)

Spoken from the mouth of a wife of a Walmart driver, having never worked a day as a driver here, who posts under his name instead of creating her own user name. She also likes searching TTR looking for any comments about Walmart. Try searching Google where you can find thousands of real stories about the corruption Walmart has been involved in.

Walmart is a dying brand. The money changers of Wall Street are betting on the demise of Walmart. The Chinese want more money for their goods that Walmart so relies on. Anyone expecting to retire from Walmart 20 years from now will have a lot in common with former K-Mart employees.

funny Tom how you loved this job until your personal fall out, and we only hear your side of the story and personally I dont believe half of what your saying. You actually drove here for what a few months ? lol

I think walmart knows all the labor rules and laws inside and out unlike the picture you paint. You think walmart is the only giant cooperation with corruption ? Really are you that naive ?

Walmart will never go anywhere in our lifetime........

I would sure like to both sides to your story and not just your one side. One day when its all said and done you might share it with us.
