I'm of course siding with the drivers on this one, as I was in need of a west load to get home this week. I'd been out east for 5 of my 7 weeks and I live in Denver. But this is how I see it.
This to me is good news. There was (at least this past weekend) a shortage of drivers for the loads we had coming out of NC. Not all, but some of the drivers wont move unless there's a 1-stop load going west. Most freight out of NC is multi-stop drops, which from what I understand, is good business. Too much freight, not enough drivers means W/S had to outsource to satisfy customers. These companies can't make money of multi-stop drops for other companies therefore they get the single west bound loads at the end of the week. Yes, it's unfortunate for guys like me, but #1 it makes business sense for W/S #2 this is good news overall, meaning freight is picking up.
This is just my two cents. Overall, I'm really happy with W/S, as most are!
Is Watkins and Shepard really a good company?

Beware of their "new" used trucks. My husband has been broke down more than driving. He is ready to bail! Last week alone he was stuck for 3 days in one state, broke down after being stuck again, waited a day, now he is broke down again! He has had trouble since starting. To top it off it is a holiday weekend and nobody answers their freaking phones! He researched this company and heard good things. Unfortunately, he as had a string of bad luck since starting and it keeps getting worse. Good luck! He sure needs it!

As a former employee...I quit, long story.
I would recommend them to anyone.
How's that ??? -

If his truck needs a lot of work, they almost certainly will put him in a different one. I went to Missoula with a list of issues on my truck, and 2 hours later I happened to see Mark and he said off hand that they were gonna put me into a different truck as mine would take too long to fix. Still was 4 days in Missoula, but I did collect breakdown pay.

He likes W/S and really isn't gonna bail. He just wants to drive. Other than his tough luck, W/S seems to be a good company and he has been treated well. -
What's hid truck number. I will lool for him at sfs.
