With flatbedding, I get a good one hour work out at least once a day...unless you are on longer hauls. Sometimes twice a day. In the summer you sweat your butt off. In the winter, you are cold and have to worry about falling on the ice when you are untarping.
It is hard work. But I love it! -
This is an easy one. Compare pulling away from the dock and closing your doors and going VS tying down your load and possibly tarping it. But Flatbed is much more challenging and satisfying. Not for wimps !

If I could find a really good small outfit that could help me out with learning the ropes of step deck and such sense I have exhausted my bank account trying to look for local work, I would go for it.

im looking to get into trucking and i love the idea of flatbedding....but even normal van/reefer otr work seems like it has enough challenges of its own...
1 step at a time me thinks.. -
Thanks for the info Jim. Looked them up and from what I can tell, won't hire from my area. Alot of companies won't hire from here because they have such a hard time getting me home and really not much of anything coming or going.

Maybe Melton out of Okiehoma??

After you finger print 800 cases of antifreeze (48,000#) out of a dry van I would have to say no.
