anyone have any tricks they tried to get there turbo working again.

i have no dash lights on. but i have no boost either. i limped 100 miles into walcott iowa. towards the end. the turbo TRIED to start working again.

it acts almost like it's gummed up. when the jake kicked in. it had boost.( 7 - 9 pounds) but on acceleration there's nothing.

Are you 100% sure it is the turbo? I have had 3 different trucks all with the isx motor in it doing the same sort of thing, each one was the egr valve, no dash lights or anything, just no boost. One happened when tried to leave a rest area and had no power on acceleration, 2nd time in a different truck it did same thing but intermittently and was able to limp into the shop, 3rd time in a different truck again going through Lincoln, Ne and was able to limp it into Council Bluffs drop my load and bobtail to Cummins Central in Omaha.

Disconnect the EGR valve. I had severe power issues that no dealer could diagnose due to no codes. I disconnected my EGR and the engine runs fine now. I probably have a bad sensor (which I always suspected) and then my EGR stuck open and would make the engine miss and throw black smoke out the exhaust. Unplugging the EGR got rid of the miss, had more power, and my temp gauge went back to 180* instead of 200*.

I limped it to walcott. got lunch. came back out and now the engine light is on.

i have the scangauge which puls up the codes. but no idea where to go to look them up.

i have no idea where the egr is on this truck. it's not in the same position as the 05 i drove last year. i'm in a 09 now.

    the code is 1028 09 126

    i have another code thats 974 03 126.

if i clear the codes. the 974 comes back as soon as the key is turned on. so it's always been there since i've been in this truck. i clear it. it immediately comes back. don't know if it's anything to do with the problem. the truck has been fine with no lights till now.

naturally. i shut the truck off and now the light is back off. and the only code now is 974.

i don't know where the egr is. but it's defenitely not in it's usual place.

got the exhaust manifold which runs into the intercharge cooler. but no egr in the front of the turbo or anywhere on that side of the motor.

Egr valve is right above the starter behind a shield on the cold side of the engine
