That 1.5 million number comes from the "B50" rating which is supposed to indicate how long half of the engines produced will last. But what about the other 50%?

Series 60s had a B50 rating of something like 1,000,000 miles.
My first one went 530,000 and my second didn't even make 100,000 miles before it blew up.

Something to with when 50% of the Engines will have been through a Rebuild, I think

Detroit Here markets the DD15 as a 1million km b50 engine - 625 000 miles for you confederates.

Just being a company driver and not a mechanic you can take this for what its worth. The ISXs I have driven have far superior pulling power than the DDs I have driven. They both have been really reliable. I wouldn't take a Maxx Force if you paid me to. Volvos can't pull a hill even when almost empty.
Now when it comes to things other than the power train I'll say this much. The Cascadia is poorly laid out for driver comfort, seats are wearing out way too soon. The position of switches for interior lights was poorly planned and such . The internationals were much better laid out and a quieter and smoother riding truck. My choice would be an older prostar/lonestar with an ISX.

I live in the Kootenays of BC, I worked at freightliner for 20 years, doing a lot of engines, the trucker around hear are having very good luck with the DD15 and for logging the DD16.
The seats in a freightliner are the same seats found in a KW they are an option, made by the same suppliers.
If you do not like the position, of the switches, in a freightliner you just move them they send a computerized signal to a computer that turns on the component designated.

Don't know when you retired by this Freightshaker was built in MX not BC. Seats didn't last 230k miles and are already well covered with duct tape to keep them together. Don't care who sold them or made them they are junk and shouldn't be an option if they can't meet a reasonable life cycle expectancy.
I can't move switches because they are mounted in a certain spot and there is noplace else for them to go that has that mount.
Either way the ride is miserable for an OTR driver and the noise level is way too high. Unlike other trucks I have driven.

I drive a 2012 Cascadia with the dd15, very nice truck for me. the power as well as fuel millage has increased as it was brokin in. still not the most powerful truck on the hill but its nice, would be better with a 13 in it but I got a 10 speed, that speaks a lot on the hills and takeoffs. rated at 455 horses with 1550 torque. it will out pull the cummins I drove for a bit by a long shot and outdo it in fuel millage. the only problems I have had is at 125000 miles the turn signal bulb blew on the front passenger side and I had to have the batteries replaced( that was due to a bad alternator on the apu) other than that, no issues. wish I could keep it but they wont sell it to me and im tired of my company. that's another story though.

What mpg are you getting with your truck compared to other drivers who had the exact same truck except with the cummins isx15? Please only compare the exact same - 2012 models - both with def and dpf systems. Thanks
