I’m at 576k miles loaded with 42k at 65 mph
9k since last oil change. I added some Lucas.
I do have oil consumption. But never had this low psi. At idle is 20 psi. Can I make it 1500 miles back home?

Cummins prefers high volume instead of high psi. It’s probably within spec or you would have a warning light and maybe shutdown.
It needs to be confirmed with a mechanical gauge.

My ISX runs 39-40. Get rid of the Lucas, drop a gallon on Super-tech(Walmart) GL 4 or 5 gear oil. Mine stopped using oil after a couple of oil changes using this, and 15-40 synthetic blend that I purchased from local oil distributor. I changed my oil between 10-12k intervals.

Mine ran at 32 to 34 for it's whole life. Think idle was like 15.

    Never used any snake oils.

Mobile Delvac 15-40 CK4 every 20K and all filters.

You can make it back home and then keep on trucking.

Get a fresh oil change. The reading is still the same.

Keep the rpms low and you might save some oil. There's no need for additives.

    We use delo.

I'd be slightly more concerned on why the oil is running 40°f hotter than the coolant.. Or is that normal.?

My little 10.8L Cummins, the oil temp may swing up to 190°-195°f under a few mile grade. Then dips back off to match the coolant temp in the 180°f range..

Hot oil will definitely produce lower psi reading..

I 2nd the gl-5 gear oil. Ended up with an extra 5 gal pail after doing the diffs. Been running a gal in the engine oil sump. Like it..

Oil is almost always in the 235ish range.

Or was on Casper. Casper water temp was usually 195ish.

This Detroit is usually 225ish. Water 180ish.

    Really, good to know.!
I didn't have a oil temp guage on my Series 60 so don't know what it ran at..

Also all miles put on my M11 now have been ambient temps between 75°f to -3°f, so really no hot temps. Maybe I'm the one with the problem.! Lol

If I’m not mistaken the m11 ran a 219 degree thermostat where as the isx runs a 235.
