Change into clean clothes for the bunk.
Put dirty stuff back on to do your taping or throw straps.
Put some jogging pants on and an A shirt?
At least you do not have a steaming bag of poo in the truck. Because no garbage can is nearby.

    IluvCATS Thanks this.

Something I learned on this forum that’s worth repeating. If you flatbed in this heat, you should have dry clean towels to sit on. If you get in and out of the truck during loading and securement and then move the truck, etc. sit on towels. Otherwise your driver’s seat will permanently smell like fat sweaty ###.

Hmm, I'm thinking a cardigan would suffice.

That antarticta weather would require long johns, under 2 pair of jogging pants, under some bibs. And winter sandals.

Yeah maybe... If I can lay down on the head of a big diesel engine that is idled up high as well.

Come work flatbed for my company, Britton Transport. I have an APU but I can idle all I want too. Also I only tarp probably twice a month on average and my loads are typically in the 1200-1500 mile range.

Our trucks have the lousy Carrier APUs and no idle parameters set. Anything over about low to mid 90s and overhead sun and they can’t cool enough. Enough drivers complained and the shop set the engine to idle when over 90 degrees. About 9 in the evening you feel a big wobble, that’s your que the engine shut off and it’s time to turn off the key and fire up the APU.

tscottme, IluvCATS and Oldironfan Thank this.
