I would definitely piss in the pool if it was filled with Miller 64. Now that I think about it Miller 64 is piss and I wouldn't get into the pool in the first place.

To keep engine idling, have you tried chocking the wheels and not setting brakes? Also, some of my trucks would idle if the brake pedal is held down. I've had a truck that would shut down while sitting in traffic. When I had a truck that would not idle, no matter what I did, I could keep the truck idling by just goosing the throttle every 2 minutes and 45 seconds. When I was sitting in a door, I just set a timer on my watch to remind me. I almost used a battery-powered electric drill with an eccentric wheel on the end (think of a lobe of a camshaft) to slowly vary the truck "gas pedal".

I hate the heat, I unloaded my tanker in Chicago, El Paso, Albuquerque while wearing a rubber suit in near 100 degree weather. I stuff ziploc bags full of ice cubes in my rubber suit whenever possible. I've even thought of buying the cooling devices for motorcyclists, like astronauts wear, that pump ice water through a vest. They're expensive, but so is a trip to the emergency room.

Cant just idle it up to 700 rpms and set the cruise? Or set trailer brake only?

Those are hardly useful in the high humidity of most of the country. Once you get above about 40% humidity, they are like hugging a sweaty person that's breathing on you.

With the newer trucks, the admin idle parameters are what they are. There is no “bypass trick”. Mine will shut off if you sit anywhere long enough with your foot on the brake.

The best most drivers can hope for today is a temperature bypass threshold.

if i recall some time ago, i read the "chart" on anti-idling laws for all the U.S. States.

i thought for sure idling WAS allowed for "driver comfort".

if i can dig up that website again, i will post it.

    here you go...

    on page # 25

    here: https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/documents/CompilationofStateIdlingRegulations.pdf

now to me, many times WE ARE ALLOWED to park on customers property.

i'll go as far to say that idling would be allowed there as well. unless like at one employer i was working for, they were in a split commercial/residential area. i think that if a truck had straight pipes, the neighbors very well will complain, but then too, i have to wonder, how many neighbors are up to date on anti-idling laws?

    and here:

those have to be filled with water, there were (or still are) known as ":man coolers" and as such, actually ADD humidity to the air, and if one in is a high humid area, would surely be soaked thru to the skin. those are better used in dry/arid areas of the country.
