Kenton, Oh. Trying to get across town from our office to the plant today and found a Sygma driver trying to make a right turn off a restricted road onto 31. Buried to the axles on someone's front lawn and blocking the whole road. After sitting a while I asked the cop for permission to swing around on the restricted road so I could go back the way I came from being that I was bobtailing. Just as soon as I do that, JB hunt decides to make a left turn off another restricted road an about 500 ft. away from the stuck sygma truck after seeing the backup.

Well lo and behold, JB gets stuck on someone else's front lawn. Now i'm definitely screwed. Everybody in between them is boxed in. It's only been snowing and raining for the last week with warm temps the last two days. What did you think was gonna happen? They sure did a fine job creating one hell of a backup in this little town. 20170112_134124.jpg

I certainly wouldn't have believed it. I mean c'mon, 2 trucks parked on peoples yards within 500 ft of eachother and a few poor souls stuck in between them. I generally don't take pictures of other driver's misfortunes but this was just ridiculous.

So, is it accepted practice in that neck of the woods just to drive over the front yard?

They probably didn't wanna violate their 11 on their e log and needed to take a 30.

Reverse gear must have been out of both trucks.

I wonder what that guy standing in his front yard is thinking.....

That larger man in the blue was pulling the container in front of me. I'd love to tell you exactly what he was thinking and saying but I can't repeat any of it here. The guy was hilarious though.

I see Swift in that last picture. I bet they were relieved it wasn't them for a change.

I'm confused what neighborhood route allows that many trucks.

They'll be off-duty for a long time now. I've been working here for a little over a year now and today was the first time I've ever seen a truck coming off of those side roads. Let alone 2 in 15 minutes. Even though it was restricted, the sygma driver could have made the turn if he set up for it. JB never stood a chance coming off the street he was on.

That's exactly what the container yanker said about swift. And 31 is a state route that junctions with 68,67, and 309 etc. just past where JB hunt got stuck. It can be a little tight but fine as long as you stay on the designated routes. There are at least 20 signs in this town saying so. Some of the side streets are more like alleys running between houses though. I have no idea what those drivers were thinking.
