Yea I work on the account. I've only been there since December 2015 though. I'm sure not much has changed since you were there. We have alot of lifers too that you probably knew.
It doesn't get much dumber than this.

I am pretty sure that Swift is kicking themselves for missing this one!

Probably another driver with the excuse, "the GPS told me to go this way...
KillingTime, AM14, Toomanybikes and 1 other person Thank this. -
Swift should get a reward when in a photo of other trucks screwing up and not them.

Lol, coming out of Tunkhannock, PA early last week, taking 11s /6e back to I-476 to drop down to I-80 the Q-comm wanted me to reroute. 'In one mile take UNPAVED ROAD on left.'.......... Sure, I'll get right on that.

I've seen the Rand McNally and the QC go a little wild in their beliefs that some turns can be made. The easiest example to make is actually when I drive home to park on home time. There is a left turn that I make bobtail that works fine, but I wouldn't want a pup trailer with me when I do it. Both of them seem to think it's perfectly reasonable to make that turn with a 53'. Here's the satellite pic of it.
It's hard to see, but right under "commerce" is a parked car. There are always cars all the way to the curb. And the power lines are also not quite showing a pole that's right on the corner. Plus the tree on the other side. And there are generally cars lining the right shoulder on 4th.
Following a gps cause it says "you can make this turn" is.. dumb.
AM14 Thanks this. -
Since the Map segments probably have nothing in them for truck restrictions if there are any, and it is a legal road that the truck can be on, then yes the GPS will route you.. Nothing in the map segments about the angle of the turn, nor how many parked cars are on the road, nor about power lines...
If the road is "too tight" for 53' trailers, then the local government will need to provide a legal truck route and post that, along with updating the state DOT in the new ordnance.Friday Thanks this.
