I am sitting in my living room, watching the fire wood burn in the fireplace. am loaded with 46,000 lbs supposed to be in montgomery in the a.m. then reload back. the 4 ln hwy in front of my drive is covered in wet snow starting to freeze. forecast for birmingham from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. wintry mix of snow freezing rain. by 8- 9 a.m. going to be all freezing rain. then rain midday as weather ticks up just a bit. then worse by the afternoon evening. then getting bad on wed. sooo my truck is staying in my driveway until thurs, more than likely. I have been thru this 2 weeks ago. (I still have the shakes):biggrin_2559: all it takes is one mishap & instead of being off a couple day's I could be out of work for a few weeks & cost could be huge. I will let all the super truckers & those co, drivers who may have to do as they are told to have at it. I'M sitting this one out!

Well, I can see this thread went way over one person's head, at least...

To the OP: Click your heels together three times while saying, "there's no place like home". If you don't have a home (which is definitely a possibility, because most of you truck drivers are a bunch of bums, anyhow :yes2557:), substitute a place of your choosing for the word "home". "There's no place like Bob's Big Boy".
If that fails, you'll have no choice but to make sure you're topped off on blinker fluid, and try to persevere. Just know that a grateful nation, baby Jesus, and the Bob's Big Boy mascot appreciate all you're doing.

So what the hell is the question? The answer to any weather question is... You are the captain of your ship.. If it sinks you go down with it.. So don't hit any icebergs..

    Skydivedavec Thanks this.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I've always preferred Clint Eastwood over John Wayne.

  9. uploadfromtaptalk1392109033006.jpg for the kids who missed it. I prefer "dirty harry". The reference above is for this item. Military can opener nick name john wayne.

I was more into his Westerns, which is probably why I favor Eastwood over Wayne in general, although I make exception to the Duke for his final movie... The Shootist was fantastic, and John Wayne nailed that character perfectly.
And you got me on that one. I think those were a little before my time... we had MREs with their plastic lining and cardboard boxes. I think the T-rats had a foil cover that had to be opened in a similar fashion, but food service wasn't my occupation.
That aside Eastwood > Wayne. No disrespect intended towards The Duke, but it is what it is.

Drink a gallon of coffee. Pee on the tires. Helps the traction. It also marks your territory.
