I'm on a never ending to quest to cut my cost. Tires are a big exspense. Im wandering which brand gives you the most bang for the buck. In other words Im looking for the least expesive tire that last the longest. I drive a tri-axle dump and they are hard on tires. If you drive a tractor you might be getting 3-4 time the life that I do.

Tires life on dump trucks is really short. Especially 3 axe dump operated on terrain,
A bit better are COE dump trucks with two steer axes and two drive axes of 8x4, 8x6 and 8x8 configuration, like Volvo FM/FMX ore Mercedes Dump truks. I saw Mack trucks with daycab of this configuration in Crimea too.
Anyway all these trucks are tire killers. -
8x4 trucks should wear tires faster than 6x4
you always need to spin tires in mud and all other terrain
our 4axle mercedes wear its tires on 3rd axle ( 315/80r22.5 michelin xdy3 for about 3week on rocky terrain and also lot of steel armature -that is on demolition site and it used to drive only on this ...) tires were not new completely but has about 10-12mm of pattern
last axle has almost new good year rhd (regional tire) with square pattern and they are still on truck but now are completely cut off because of wheel spinning in rocks but there is still about 7-8mm of tire but they need to be changed soon
also truck was overloaded always had about 30000lbs per axle
and after that job it made another job of about 5 months and made another 20000 milles
now on third axle is continental i think they have good ratio between lifetime and cost
but michelin had 3750kg per tire ( on double mounting ) other tires has 3350kg
maybe best thing are retreads for tipper -
there is Maranginy rethread shop in Lugansk. We use rethread, but not for steer axe

really cost effective for steer axle are kormoran (company owned by michelin) not sure are they available in US

Yeah, I used Kormoran too. But Michelin is better anyway

yes i mean that nothing can be compared with michelin
but also in price too
for road and today economic problems i would chose continental
anyway i think only good careful driver can make tire like longer
no one can get you better tires for less money so try to often check pressure and try to prevent wheel spinning -
I would recomend looking into som recaps for the drives and lift axles. we run them on all 10 triaxle dumps we have and save a bumdle at the end of the year. often times off road you run the risk of damaging a sidewall or destroying a tire alltogether, makes more sense to run the cheeper recaps. We run General brand H load rated on our tractors and get them recaped for our dumps. Bandag cap I believe. Also helps to keep the drives rotated on a schedule to get max life.
Sad this has became a buisness of saving, not profiting.
