I think your confused...
This is what you are referring to not a Bendix -
Change all the air dryers you want. No power to the heater was the root of the problem or at least a big part of it.
Stupid mistake on the part of all the so called mechanics.650cat425, Hulld, stillwurkin and 1 other person Thank this. -

Wait a second....the power to the air dryer hasn’t been checked since last year maybe two years...?
And you froze up and there’s no power now. Seems like operator error. Should check power and replace cartridge just before winter every year.......
But that me.....GreenPete359, 77fib77 and daf105paccar Thank this. -
This is where the mistake is made.
The problem is in a lot of situations you can light a test light ( or read power on a meter) but the circuit is compromised by corroded wiring or connections and the circuit is just not able to carry enough amperage of a high load such as a heater.
Some people use an old headlight bulb to load a circuit but I use an old wiper motor when I’m testing for amp draw integrity. -
You are correct about putting a load on the wire.
I know a guy on here who uses a halogen headlight. I will try to remember to ask him why halogen. -
Final Drive Thanks this.
