It's been very quiet in the KLLM forum

Gee Al, I thought I was the only one. I would tell my dispatcher that I was out of hours and the log audit people were on my butt, but she would argue and say, you only drove 2 hours. I'm thinking WHAT? I drove 13 hours yesterday and had to hide it so I would make your #### delivery time you were whining about because you gave me a run that was late.

Now you want to give me a run that has to be picked up in 15 minutes, but I'm on the other side of Atlanta from the customer. "Oh, but it's just 27 miles, you mean you can't make that?" What? 4 PM in Atlanta, and you want me to make 27 miles in 15 minutes. "oh well, if you're late, just call the broker and tell them." Then when you get there, they ask why you were late?

You see, no one ever taught me that they wanted me to run on time, but give them to me late. Or run over my hours, but hide it and dodge log audit, but answer to them if they catch you. They tell you, you should observe the hours of service under Federal Law, but ###### at you if you do. I thought I was doing something wrong, but no one taught me how to play the game. They tell you a different story in orientation, and the dispatchers and supervisors think you can't hack it, if you don't do what needs to be done to get it there, but if you do, you're in trouble. Then when you do run all night, and want to sleep a few hours, they gripe because they have another run that is late and needs to be picked up. No body bothered to tell me how to play the real game to get the job done. If I had only been told what to do, I would have done it and just played the trucking game the right way. Sheesh!

 

Seems like you hooked up with good company now newbie. Not that there are really any GOOD companies 'cause it is ALL about the almighty financial bottom line nowdays and piss on everything else. But, seems like the one you are working for has a system of operating that doesn't need to put you in the middle and dump on you to get their job done. I'm happy for you 'cause you seem like "good people"

Are ther any terminals close to or in MD? How the miles? Any new news on this company?

 

No miles, no money for wifi, maybe? The sharecropper trucks get all the good loads. too broke to quit. Now they tell tell me they wont pay me for my time off from work on my work comp injury.

Run away, long orientation 10 hours but no $$ nor miles here a the KLLM plantation no more
