I will be going with BTC out of Memphis, TN on January 31st.

After all the deliberation and consideration, the company that was #1 on my list actually accepted me! :biggrin_25514:

Thanks to this forum, I didn't take the first company to give me an offer of employment. There were a few times that I really wanted to just say yes and have the whole thing done and over with. I appreciate everybody's input and will update often!

    Comments welcome!

CYA, pick up the National Cargo Securement Standards book. Read it! Follow it, and always remember that you may only HAVE to cover 50% of the load weight. Always go for more straps/chains/both than you need. It takes a few extra minutes to add the extra, but, in case of an emergency it could save lives.

Take your time the loading and tying down or tarping. If you have questions feel free to ask another driver loading at the same place. Most of us are more than glad to give you a hand and show you the ropes. If you are untarping and are finished. Feel free to offer to help other drivers. Goes a long way in making someone's day.

Seeing as how I have been just another laborer in the downtrodden workforce...with no skills essentially...my enthusiasm is born from struggle.

Now that I have a CDL-A, I feel a little bit more like I am able to see myself actually advancing myself as a man and as a provider.

:) I will take a $20 bill if you are giving it away.
