Its Slow Down OR Move Over for Emergency Vehicles NOT BOTH!

Around this area if you buzz 5-0 they will come and invite you to a person to person, they are very serious about the move over law and they are cracking down on people that buzz breakdowns on the shoulder.

 

Not really certain they have made it any better. Under the previous law they had to have a means of determining how much you had/had not slowed, but under the newer law it gives a large amount of discretion to the trooper/officer/deputy.

as a tow truck operaitor i do apritiate when people obay the slowdown or pull over law it makes thing less stress full on me. in the 3 years i spent working in a tow truck i was almost ben hit so manny time i have lost count.

 

I can promise you I will never be one of the ones who almost hit you.

 

Here in NY we just started the move over law and just after it took effect I saw a 4wheeler blow by 2 leo's that had a car pulled over. It wasn't 2 seconds later the 2nd leo whipped out and pulled that 4wheeler over I hope he did write him up

 

In The Great State of Texas it's move over a lane, if you can't move over you must slow down to 20mph. DPS Troopers will pull you over and ticket you.

 

These cops should be smart enough to not stop on the side of the highway if they don't need too, anyone they are pulling over should be told to take the next exit and get off the road.

 

I do both, it's common sense and common courtesy to the emergency vehicles/responders.

 

Actually its 20mph under the posted speed limit.
