You’re just a steering wheel holder until you’ve driven through a dust storm in Ohio ...

    Road To Hana, Maui?

Straight to an open and working fuel pump at the Effingham J?

To an open parking spot at the North Bend TA on a Sunday afternoon?

this kind of dust storm happens very often on CA-14 between Mojave and Inyokern. I have been in that few times.

Outer perimeter security is provided by the host nations security. Anything other than would depend on a SOFA that we have with the host country. For the most part, they stay inside the compound. The friendlier the country, the easier it is for the host country to provide security.

The middle east is different. The vast majority of the security is provided by private contractors. There are two main companies that provide it for the State Department and two main companies that provide it for the military.

At any given time there are between 400-600 "Shooters" at the embassy in Baghdad. They provide security for State Department personal that leave the compound along with embassy security.

If an embassy falls, they say to send in the Marines to evacuate Americans or to rescue them. In today's day and age it would most likely be a combined effort. Hopefully it would go better than Operation Eagle Claw.
