Most of the time carriers that (team) like this do it after a period of time. People can put this practice down. I'm not one of them. After several weeks a trainee should be able to operate a CMV with minimal supervision. Most of the better trainers are not soundly sleeping anyway.

LOL my trainer slept so sound I used to have to hit the brakes hard and lay on the air horn to wake him. Couldn't wake him by yelling lol

If you are talking about going out for 6 weeks after orientation as a team for training, NO. Most companies put you with a trainER not another trainEE. Only one or two companies are that stupid. You'll be fine.
