I completely get where you are coming from. The newer generation of truckers are rude and inconsiderate, whether it be at the fuel island, the dock or on the highway.

I've Had "some words" With What Appeared As Incomprehensibly LAZY "drivers" at Some Of The Finer(?) Truck Stops In MY Second 10 years.
I was Glad at One Company (Where I Drove For a Decade, not in a row) That The Common SENSE Owner Gave Me an American Express Card AND 2 Other Fuel Cards (Com Data and something else), So I could Choose What Fuel Up Place I WANTED!!
I NEVER AGAIN Fueled At The "well known" locations, But ONLY at Independent Businesses (with some SCENTS) and Usually for some LESS CENTS.

Sometimes It FEELS GOOD (Felt Good) To Let Off Pent Up Tensions Derived Solely From Some Of The LESS Enjoyable Aspects In Short, Long, Random Route, Dedicated Trucking.

    That's MY Story Line.
    CHEERS!!

Good luck with that. Most people will think their time is just as valuable as yours.

Swift plans fuels stops based on price. Drivers don't benefit from going out of route just to save Swift a few pennies. Also, Swift was not perfect at predicting exactly when you would need fuel. When I was there I often fueled at stops other that the planned stops. And no, I couldn't call ahead. When I was there the DM's couldn't authorize fuel unless I was actually at the pump. The system wouldn't let them do it. It was a security feature to prevent fuel theft. I actually got stranded overnight at a Pilot once because my Qualcomm had stopped sending location data and ComData wouldn't let the DM authorize fuel.

Highly recommend you never fuel during daytime at the TA in Tonopah or the Petro in Kingman.

Stop at a truck stop outside of Detroit MI every night, well Monday to Friday, and out of the eight lanes four of them are blocked by drivers who are no where near their trucks. At least one of the nights I have to back up after getting fuel as I do not feel like waiting

I watched a CRST driver have lunch at a windowside table while the truck sat at the pump. Only four pumps and a very busy place. After I fueled I parked and watched him walk out to the truck and drive away. I never seen him even pick up a nozzle.

Watched Ivan park his white volvo at a pump, fuel and then walk back into the adjacent store and shopped after using the bathroom. I had already fueled and parked just like the CRST above.

People are just flat out ignorant. They're worthless eaters. I'm quick to call someone out for this type of behavior but sometimes there really is a good reason for the hold up even though it's a rare occasion compared to the losers only thinking of themselves.

I got fuel last night at a Loves. Holiday so they weren't real busy at midnight. I was in the lane next to the tire check thing. I fueled then pulled forward. Went in, got my receipt, used the can then got a snack and drink from the store. Walking back to the truck, a guy that was parked at the pumps behind me started complaining about me taking so long. I told him I did not take very long and how did he fuel so fast. He said he didn't fuel just had to grab a coffee. There were 4 pumps with no trucks either at the pumps or in front of them that he could have drove through when he got there. Fat boy just didn't want to walk that far to the store. I got in my truck and proceeded to eat my snack. Slowly.

Or having your company send a Comdata advance code to a specific truck stop, you had to go inside, make sure they received it.
If you had a code sent for $600 ( a coast to coast run- try that these days) , you would have to wait for them to hand write 4 checks.

Then they had to call Comdata to get an authorization code after they had your name, DL number, truck number etc....

See how much of a line there would be at that fuel desk.
Not to mention, if the code was sent to truck stop X, and the load changed and you weren't going that way, everything had to be cancelled and done all over again. All by phone....
