But he said it was a dedicated account. Werner never states you can earn up to $1.18 a mile *as a company driver*, but they have a dedicated account that pays that (not very many miles lol)

yup I did say dedicated fleet our regional and dedicated fleets make .4 mi regardless of exp level. In interest of full disclosure we do not get detention pay on these fleets. I was ticked with S.R.T. before being moved to this account I was california regional and after they killed the div over a year ago things got kinda off. I have a 2010 prostar (if I can keep it away from our mechanics I can keep it running) so things arent' half bad here now we just reopened our pet policy and returned the .05 haz load bonus (dont get many haz loads on tyson fleet though) but with that some of the safeway guys and othrs on the dedicated that do get haz loads can earn up to .45mi not saying srt is good company but I've been here for almost two years so either theyre doing something right or Im just sick of looking you decide.

Well sign me up!!! How could 50,000 threads on how rotten a company that JB Hunt is be trumped with one simple post?!?!? I've seen the light!
    *end sarcasm*

Avoid JB Hunt. They are scumbags that can only change their tactics, never their operating procedures. With a turnover rate as high as theirs, it's laughable that they see themselves as the future of trucking. Is this guy a recruiter? How about an IP check.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It looks like the recruiting pamphlet was reprinted here.

I had a JB tell me one time what a wonderful job he had. He got a whole 1500 miles last week! Somebody tell me: Where's the contract? :biggrin_2559:

    Weekly? LOL

    Yeah, for a DAY....

After you've worked your ### off for 80 hours in 6 days for one of these companies, what do you want to do on that first day off?

    NOTHING!!!

    Kind of pointless to me.

Hello all, I'm new to this thread and only read it because I recently signed on with these guys. I'm fairly new to trucking (2 years) but did the OTR,regional, and Local thing already. It seems alot of companies say one thing and want you to "do" another. I am hoping this time is different.

Their orientation was 4 days and was very professional. We had our own rooms, catered food at lunchtime and shuttles back to hotel. (East Brunswick,NJ) All I can say so far is that they take safety very seriously. When you are as big as they are you know that someone is looking at you. This new CSA 2010 stuff will bring down alot of companies. Yeah even the cool ones that you think pay well and are great to the drivers.

It seems that most of the complaints on here come from the OTR guys. I am on a dedicated local account and unfortunately those vary in quality and money by the terminal you are out of. I'll keep you all posted if things here change but I will tell you that a company of this size has alot of different jobs going on all over. You can run everything from local to intermodal to OTR if you choose. Any questions please feel free to ask.

You 2 guys missed the entire content of this post...completely over your heads obviously.

JB Hunt is the model YOUR company is shooting for. You've been advised...so no ######## in the future about how bad your company sucks....just like JB.

    losttrucker Thanks this.

This thread reminds me of a joke one of my drivers used to pull.

He'd see a bum at whatever truck stop(this one happened at the Monteagle truck stop on I-24) he'd walk up to them and say, "Hello there, I'm willing to bet you worked for J.B. Hunt!" He used to drive for J.B. and had great animosity towards them.

    I absolutely hate JB.

But I can also see the business model they are using, rather effectively I might add. Other companies will follow, or they'll close down in the future.

We're already seeing it happen. I can rattle off at least 20 companies doing it now. Some with more success than others, and vice versa.
