    WHAT I DID AFTER LOCAL Garage found the issue....
    ---unplug the square connector in the centre of the engine on the drivers side. It is the wiring harness plug for the jake brake. My wiring harness is oil soaked and as such is shorting and causing the jake to come on by itself. Once unpluged the issue went away. Give it a go and see what happens.

    usually all isx harneses are oil soaked i have seen it create some problem what i would do is try to see if there is constant power coming to these solenoids thats shorting them out maybe a bad switch or some wire is shorting to ground, get a diagram and see what you're supposed to have where and check from there.

    Does anyone have a pic of the engine brake plug.. I pulled a plug and it seemed to work for about 20 minutes and then started acting up again. Don't know if I pulled the right one.

    I now how looks engine brake plug but I don't have Cummins 2003. Can you ask someone to take picture of your engine and post here.
