Interesting conversation you all have here....I am neither invested financially or emotionally so it's easy for me to see both points-of-view. No two business' operate the same so what works for one doesn't for the other. It sounds like you two have it figured out as to what suits your needs the best and it says a lot to guys like me, that looks to be an o/o someday, to keep an open mind to the business side of things. I tip my cap to all you guys making it work in these tough times.

I have James Hardie blocked on ITS because it's always dirt cheap and they put up like 30 loads at once and flood the load boards. I have run 2 loads for them before though. They will sometimes raise their prices when they're desperate. Still cheap though. They usually move Reno to Tacoma for $1100 and I wouldn't even consider it but one time I called anyways to see if they will budge and he was paying $1800 because they needed something ASAP. Even $1800 is low for that but I needed to get home for an appointment

Yea they are cheap, they gave us $293 for a 150 mile run...should be paying min. $500 to tarp a load.

You may have an entire day tied up on that 150 mile load. You cant risk tying up a truck all day for $500. Rock bottom should be $750+tarp. Make it an even grand.

"But Six, they wont pay that."

And I don't haul it. No sticks and bricks and anything used in the construction of a house. Too cheap to be so heavy.

Omg I was always wondering why brokers even bother to offer that kind of money, does anybody really exist who books that? Apparently yes...

Ya know, if U took the 35' Motor Home and filled it with that Cement Board U still wouldn't have a viable rate lol
