Wait; THIRTY YEARS in the business, and you NEVER heard of a Lease/Purchase contract before? I was in the business BEFORE you, then, and I certainly heard about such deals at least in 1989, maybe earlier. Have you been living under a rock? Or in Iraq???

started in 1984 and drove the first 17 yrs for a private manufacturing plant, drove from NC to Canada weekly, then small companies after they went under.

never was exposed to the owner/op segment or l/p people much

didn't hang at the lunch counter b/sing, got a booth ordered my dinner, read my book, ate, went back to truck.

didn't hang around the terminal, went home.

anti-social?? maybe. under a rock? nope.

Iraq?? too old for that one, I'm 71

Very understandable. I don't spent time talking to other drivers and just mind my own business. I have learned more about how my company (and the industry in general) operates from people in this forum than I have from anyone in my company, because I simply don't socialize with anyone - at truck stops or at our terminals.
