If you are looking to gross over 1,000 a week working M-F then the Home Depot account is where you want to go. I work out of Scranton PA and we make 36 cpm. We do all of eastern PA, Long Island and upstate NY.

The Allentown PA DC does all of NJ and the Philly area but they get more cpm, I think 58cpm to start.

Well I changed my mind. I couldn't take the chance that this was going to real bad company to work for. I really have never heard anything good about JB Hunt. I took a local job here in Western, NY where I will be home every night. Thanks for all who replied.

I believe the OP was confused about the intermodal. Home Depot is a DCS dedicated acct and has nothing to do with intermodal.

Btw it's a shame people believe the negative crap about JB that is spewed here. I was scared too before I went to JB but I went so I could find out for myself.

But I'm making 1050-1100 a week driving 2010 Cascadias. Home every night and off every Sat and Sun. I pay $13 a week for insurance and get a company match on my 401k and profit sharing. My FM is cool. If I wanted to work Saturdays I'd be making $1200-1250/wk. But I'm surviving just fine working 5 days.

I believe I could be doing a lot worse. Listen to the haters and leave money on the table. That's the problem with message boards and the internet you got to figure out what to believe and what to dismiss.

Hope to see you on the I83 Roadkill.

We have freight on Saturday as well and you are dead on with the pay. This past week I worked M-F and grossed 1,020.
The best thing about JB is that if your account ever closes, there is always another account around to take you.

JB recently hired a bunch of drivers for work around the Minneapolis area. They sent them to Chicago for orientation over two weeks ago and now are back home waiting by the phone to know when they'll start work! No real answers are given other than we'll call you when we're ready. I'd say forget this outfit. They're still a piece of trash just like they were 10 years ago.

Sounds like they got excited and went out to hire way before a new account was even ready to begin.

I'm going to orientation next week to run out of the pittston distribution. What can expect when I get started as to runs and stuff of that nature. Thank you very much!

I am out of the Pittston Terminal. Loads are based on what your start time will be. You will be dispatched a HD load to a store and then preplanned on a backhaul. We service NY state including some Bronx,Queens stores. Backhauls on Long Island, CT, NJ, DE, PA, and MD. The guys in Dispatch are the best! Seriously. You will be running up on your 14 though and there is always work on Saturdays if you want it.

I go to orientation next week and my shift time will be 4pm that following Monday. What kind of runs do the guys on that shift run. Also, was your orientation 3 or 4 days. Mine starts in Tuesday bc of fathers day but they originally told me it goes until Thursday but u have a suspicion that its going until Friday. Is there anything in particular I should be made aware of going into the orientation like stuff to study or anything of that nature. Thank you for your help, it's a little stressful switching jobs. I like to be made aware of everything. My name is Scott btw. Thank you!
