The funniest thing is the thought a J.B. recruiter can come here regularly and still recruit for that outfit.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

They just want to get away from that company as fast as they can. Driver's can't afford to sit around a few day's without working if they need the money.
So JB calls and sounds off their "Sweet Deals" over the phone, and it is done. JB has picked up another potential driver. These recruiters get paid when you show up for orientation, or when you agree to come to orientation.
All these recruiter's are.......are salesmen or sales women for a trucking company they are selling you a job, and if you buy there bolgna then they have succeeded in their job.
The recruiter's really love it when they call and you say well I just quit my job and blah blah blah happened over there, this gives them ideas they can use to their advantage.
Most recruiter's I have ever talked to are conartist's they can con a driver into almost anything by just talking to you.
They read to you what the company has set fourth for them to sale you on a job. It is up to the company to hold up to that end of the job not the recruiter.
All he or she is there for is to get you to agree to come to orientation.
As for the do not call list at JBH if the company was or is that great then why do you have to employee someone to remove people from your call list? -
Will All Telemarketing Calls Stop If I Register?
29. If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?
No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom youve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.
When you feel out a application on the internet you are asked for your telephone number, this gives them the right to call you if of course you give your right telephone number.
I usually give a bogus phone number, and a real e-mail address for anything on the internet, if you recieve the e-mail and it is spam then your spam filter will take care of it.
I have before used 000-000-0000 for a telephone number so you don't have to put in a real number if you do not want to.
When you feel out a online application all the website knows is if the blank where your phone number is located is filled in, some are smart enough to recognize numbers/letters so you will at least have to put numbers in the blanks.
Most online application's require ONLY a valid e-mail address, if you don't want to use your personal e-mail address.....then yahoo, msn, etc. you can have a million of these e-mail addresses use 1 for this. -
Actually, we dont get paid for getting you to orientation......we only get paid if you drive. As far as why would I pick JB to work for. Because its a great corporation...one of the most profitable in the business. Sorry, but the ramblings of a few people on a message board doesnt discourage me.
Most people I hire are very happy with their jobs. As far as our turnover rate....most companies have a high turnover rate their first year. Our turnover rate for drivers that have been here for over a year is actually very low. Also we have more 2 and 3 million mile drivers that any other company. Why do I work for JB hunt? Its a easy company to hire for, they pay me a hell of a lot of money and because of their great 401K benefits I will retire very well off. Is that a good enough reason for you? -
The ramblings of a few drivers on a message board means nothing in the recruiting world. Do you honestly think this message board stops me or any other recruiter from hiring anyone?
Im dying to tell you something really funny about this board. But i wont, but I can assure you that we recruiters get a big kick out of it. Perhaps someday after I retire I will let you in on the humorous secret. -
We are glad you get such a KICK out of our board to want to return to enjoy it more and more.
THANK YOU for your participation in logging in! -
the so called "ramblings" are here to keep potential victims away from companies that are not to say the very least above board with drivers....no I cant stop you from hiring anyone, that is not my goal. My goal is to inform employment seeking individuals about the inside scoop of the trucking industry, to help fellow "truckers" make informed choices, my goal is to bring change to the industry that is good for drivers, their families and the companies they work for....thats why I am here. -
That's because the "recruiting world" of JB hunt only exists in that little cubicle you sit in. If you were to be in the real world of truck driving, JB hunt does not truck, you would NOT last.
To sum this all up you are an aragent, pompas wantabe. After reading all your posts I am less inclined to to fill out an application then before and any I have recieved I used to start a fire in the stove..
In case you don't know this is a public forum any anybody with half a brain and a grain of common sence would see you for what you are. You are not any better then the company tou work for and any driver with experience would not consider even talking to you.. -
Ahhh....the old victim mentality. No one ever does bad at a job, no one is ever guilty of not doing what it takes to succeed at a company. Everyone is a victim of some great conspiracy whose only purpose is to screw drivers.
The truth: 20% of drivers at any company arent going to have what it takes to do well at that company. Of those 20% you will NEVER see any of them who will take the blame for themselves. THE LARGER THE COMPANY THE MORE PEOPLE WHO YOU WILL HAVE RANTING ABOUT HOW BAD THAT COMPANY IS. You cant name a company of any reasonable size out there where I cant find some ranting on a message board saying its the worst company out there and their only purpose is to screw drivers.
On the other side of things....if you take a company with 20 trucks and 10 of them are getting the raw deal, you wouldnt ever hear anything bad about that company.....and the people of boards like this would consider that a great company.
Fact: I talk to 100s of drivers a day about their jobs. For every company on this thread mentioned as the worst company out there, I have talked to many drivers who are happy at that company and wouldnt ever think of going any place else. (Yes, recruiters like me actually talk to more drivers about their work that you drivers do)
Fact: JB Hunt is a huge company
Fact: Yes, just like any other huge company we have a pretty high turnover rate the first year.
Fact: For drivers who stick around for over a year we have a very LOW turnover rate ( we must be doing something right)
Fact: we are one of the most profitable trucking companies (again we must be doing something right.
Fact: even with the high turnover rate we are still growing (again we must be doing something right)
Fact: No company is perfect, mistakes are made at all companies. On that same line no job is perfect. No matter what job you do in life....at one time or another you are going to feel like you get the raw end of the deal with something. No reason to quit and go on a lifelong rant about how you were screwed.
Fact: 90% of our drivers are making 40 cpm or more.
Something to think about: If you arent getting above average miles, perhaps you arent an above average driver. On that same line....If you arent getting above average miles, there is a problem. Get with someone to fix that problem, whether it be something you are doing, or something dispatch is doing.
This is a huge reason why there is a high turnover rate a companies. Most places are hiring. Instead of trying to fix a problem with miles and possibly admit some wrongdoing....drivers are more willing to quit and go someplace else. Hense why our turnover rate is lower for someone who sticks around for a year. (those drivers seem to know how to make a job work)
Now....see you got me ranting....I will now leave this message board and back to hiring drivers.....only occasionally coming out here to read for entertainment purposes.
Y'all have a great day! -
So far the only thing you have come up with is a bunch of rhetoric instead of hard facts that would contradict the reputation of JB HUNT. So far you have admitted to a high turn over rate and attempted to defend that with a bunch of smoke.
You have also made claims on how "profitable" the company is without any proof.
Also claimed that 90% of the drivers make more then 40 cpm without coming up with a solid pay scale..
All that I am seeing here is the typical smoke and mirror tactics that is common in the trucking industry and you have not convinced me in any way that JB Hunt is any diferent now then it was 10 years ago...
