    I've done the JB dedicated side of things. Was for a local manufacturer delivering to regional customers.

    Dedicated side does have gross pay goals for drivers on the accounts and manage workload to that. Deidcated's regional manager held our account manager to those numbers. The VP was on the phone to the manager and the driver trying to fix things if something wasn't right. If the account didn't have enough work for us we were typically given the opportunity to work another account for a few days. Rough numbers.... 8 months was $60k There goal on the account at that time was $75k. Was contacted to come back with an account gross goal of $100k. Took a local, rarely out overnight job instead.

    The inter-modal side of things is run almost like a separate business entity. Definite walls up. Dedicated folks can help out inter-modal or transfer to inter-modal. Inter-modal was not allowed to transfer to dedicated accounts. Most of the mega horror stories boil out from the non-dedicated folks.

    We parted because my provider for DOT physical was not on their approved list and I refused to go to a clinic in one of the nearby big cities during the big lock down last year. No harm no foul from either side, I just viewed it as unsafe, at that time, to comply with their internal policy.

    Jbhunt is a mega. That should tell you a lot about what to expect. I enjoyed working for them but they micro manage and the pay is below average. Now that I drive for a company that treats me like an adult I am much happier.

    Saw another ad yesterday where Martin-Brower is hiring new cdl school grads at some terminals. The ad was in Coatesville, PA
    @Fastbreakstar22
    Probably should go ahead and put an app. in with Martin-Brower now. No need to hang in there where you are if you can make $20 or $30 thousand more by moving to Martin-Brower.

    It’s not accurate. According to the department of transportation, they had a total of 1,400,000,000 miles. But they have about 27000 power units.

    About one and five JB Hunt trucks are taken out of service. This means you sit at the waystation for 10 hours or longer. The 10 hours is the penalty, and it may take longer to get the repairs made so that you passed inspection and this is equipment, failure, and not driver failure
    If you read the reviews of JB Hunt, they push push push you all the time even before you work for them they have all these timetables they want you to follow and they’re not even paying you and they expect you to drop everything I’ve been driving for about 40 years and something I would suggest you do… most people have talked about this but the average lawsuit now in Sullivan kill a driver is more than $10 million so when you have a company that’s more concerned with you working for someone else for five years then they are your driving record. It explains why they have so many wrecks and which trucks are total way and so many dead drivers. With all that they don’t always pay as promised, they’ve been fine by the government for not paying attention. And let’s put it this way when you get fined by the government for something you’ve been getting away with it for a long time and that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
    Get everything in writing. Apparently years ago they were good company and then they got bad first. And good luck.
