jb hunt problems-Good or bad

I worked for these pieces of pure crap for 3 months. I was hired in on a dedicated account for staples in dayville, CT. I was supposed to make 1000 dollars a week.

The first 2 weeks I worked for them during training I made 1000 a week. As soon as I went out on my own the miles immediately ceased and I was lucky if I was taking home 350-400 a week.

Jb Hunt is fool of empty promises and propaganda to try and fill there seats in any way possible. Since I quit them I have received a phone call every other week trying to get me back in one of there vehicles..

All I can say is that they rank rite up there with Swift and Werner for a reason.

 

to get those phone calls to stop...

1. tell them you are recording the phone call for quality assurance purposes.

2. tell them to stop calling you, get the recruiters name, the company they represent, etc

3. tell them again to stop calling you and that they are harassing you. make sure you say "HARASSING."

4. tell them you will record any subsequent phone calls from them and that if they call, they will be in violation of FEDERAL LAW and that you will be able to SUE them for thousands of dollars. Yes, thousands of $$$

5. Document exactly when they call again. Date, time, person, length of call, phone number used. All that information can be tracked.

This is the same tactic to use on credit collections. It works.

I agree there are alot of post on here about how bad JB Hunt is, and maybe the dedicated or OTR is. My husband has been with them a long time on the intermodel side pulling rail trailers local. He has a 5 day work week home every day, PTO time, he even gets break down pay. He also makes 1000 a week. So from all the bashing that is on here there could be many reasons and I do believe the company might be somewhat responsible but I do believe the drivers make more problems for themselves and has to blame someone.

 

Please here me out. I am happy that your husband is one of the token few drivers that make a living working for these pieces of cow flop. But if you think for a second that all of the drivers complaining about JB Hunt are just problem drivers you need your head examined. Read the facts, they speak loud and clearly.

 

I did not say all of them, but honestly you see it as well as I do. Drivers job hop all the time thinking it will be better some where else. Every big company out there has someone complaining about something but if all these companies were that BAD would they still be in business??? think about it!!!

 

I cant speak for all companies but I can tell you quite a bit about JB Hunt.

Lets start with orientation. If JB Hunt has 2 orientations a week at the New Jersey terminal I went to, with at least 30 drivers, How many drivers is that a week? simple math 60. Now multiply that by the number of locations they have orientations at and the numbers are quite large.

Now, if you want me to say that all drivers are perfect that would be a lie.
But, if the majority of these drivers were not lied to, left out all weekend without pay, given miles to drive that were promised in the first place, there would be no need for the constant revolving door policy with there drivers.

And believe me, until you have personally been screwed by them you would not understand any of this.

 

Unfortunately, I was smart enough to sign up with JB twice. First time, I did 2 trips from Fontana,CA to El Paso,TX.....in 2 weeks!
Second time, I spent 6 days in Southgate,CA for orientation and my first "load"...made a total of 8 miles.

 

I drove for JB way back in 1994 and lasted eight months. I was out 2-3 weeks at a time and only averaged 1800 miles a week.

If you live anywhere east of St. Louis, expect to spend a lot of time on the east coast or at a rail yard. I was in New Jersey so much, I thought I lived there.

When I complained about the miles, I was told they couldn't promise it would get any better. That's when I quit.
