I drive for J.B. Hunt, and have for 21 years. This is not true. They have nice stereos that are AM/FM/Weather/Satellite with CD players, 1/8" audio in on the front and are Bluetooth as well. This is on the brand new 2015 International ProStar I'm in. As well, there is a CB antenna and hook-up. I sometimes feel as if I am the only guy on the CB at times anymore as it is so quite.
No, they do NOT want you using your cell phone even with hands free when in motion.
Yes, they do want you to only use their GPS if your truck is equipped with it, and it works. Mine is, but it doesn't work... I' like my Rand McNally TND 510
JB Hunt wants all CB;s and AM/FM Radios out of their trucks

The OP is full of it. I drive for JB Hunt out of Harrisburg PA Intermodal terminal. There has been no such messages sent to us. All brand spanking new Freightliners we are getting in have radios in them as well cb antennas. JB Hunt has no policy against using the cb or radio while driving.
-
now, is he lying? i doubt it, but stranger things have happened
but the irony of this is that with the current crop of lemmings we have driving trucks these days and corporate control and monitoring, its not too far-fetched from being true -
Not for nothing but your friend is lying EZX. There are actual JB hunt drivers including myself that have said no such message exists. The only ban is talking on your cell phone. The using of the gps system is preferred over the windshield mounts but not banned. The audio system in the prostars are actually quite good as a matter of fact and are ipod and Bluetooth capable.

Not true i pull out of home depot in breinigsville jb hunt dispatcher gives me my paperwork anyway i asked him about that he said they dont want you talking on cell phones or talking a lot on the cb but you can have a cb and am/fm radio.
-
its all about distractions, when you are in a tough spot they suggest "quiet cab" nothing on radio or cb or anything else with noise. But that's not a ban.

ewill71 Thanks this.

you get lost, first thing you do is get off the phone, turn off the radio, ears and eyes perk up..............shhhh, everybody quiet, gotta think
then after you get your bearings, your mind goes back to what it was doing before
if you are ever dead dog tired and want to wake up, make a wrong turn and get lost, your entire body wakes up, IMMEDIATELYewill71 Thanks this. -
i also drive for jb intermodal i bethlehem pa ... and i just a few days ago installed my connex into my day cab freightliner and they had no problem with it ... just like the others jb drivers said , you are told NO NO NO NO to cell phones even with blue tooth in orientation, but as far as the radios and cb, they are fine ....
