If I seen a bad enough accident, and there isn't already a bunch of people stopped to help, I would definately stop to see if they were ok. I know cops try to get you to NOT touch them if they are very badly hurt, as in do not drag them out of the car unless the car is on fire because an inexperienced person could end up hurting them worse. But it's a tough call.

Okay. I understand your frustration with JB Hunt. I hear it everyday from drivers that have worked for theme. As far as your DAC goes. Some companies are not so strict. even if you get a letter from the company stating the damage was not that much. It really won't help. But on the accident was it a DOT preventable or just a preventable accident?? And how many more do you have?? Accidents that is?? Not just with JB hunt but with any other company.

And also wondering I have heard that JB Hunt has been bought out by US Xpress??? Anyone else heard anything??

I doubt J.B. got "bought" out, they are a little to big for that, for a publicly traded company that big to get taken over, the news would be all over the place

No it was not DOT preventable....in fact i urged CHP to take a report because they were setup to the right of me but they refused because no harm, no foul, no blood, no ambulance. this wasnt even my fault but to protect their insurance and safety rating JBHUNT just pinned it on me after fabricating a policy that did not apply to what happened. that was for an accident 1yr ago....the most recent one was 03/05/2009 and that was just a bump into a gate and again JBHUNT throws me under the bus, however this was my fault and i have no one else to blame but myself. it should not have cost me my job though because i reported it....as for any other accidents for other companies?....none

My girlfriend's dad drove for JB Hunt for over 15 years (don't know the exact number of years). He never had a complaint about them. He was a multi million mile driver (don't know the exact "million" either). He was treated with respect. I'm sure he had his bad days but never cared much to complain.

One story he shared with me was a real shocker. They let him park his tractor+trailer at his house. He usually parked it in the high school parking lot (he lived by a school, both JB and the school was fine with this). One day he COULDN'T park it at the school because there was a fire and police, fire trucks and the works were there consuming his area. No biggy. Instead, he parked it a few blocks away in this vacant lot where they had just torn down a building.

WELL.. Guess what? Someone stole it. And since he it wasn't an approved spot by JB they fired him. Well 1 day later, they called him into their main headquarters and had a sit down with him. Apparently what he done was a big NO NO! But, since he had done so much for the company they ignored it and said "don't let this happen again". Although he was suspended for 2 weeks he kept his job.

IDK where or how all of this ties into the lets crap on JB HUNT band wagon, hey, it doesn't.

I'm sure, like many have stated before, each person has their own experience. His was a good one.

I had a claims situation with JB Hunt a couple of years ago. It was never clearly established whether it was my driver or their driver who was at fault. The claims department in Lowell contacted me first and referred me to the local claims adjuster they used. The settlement was over $6000, and to my untrained eye, the damage couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 hundred. Should I return most of the settlement because it was too much? Or that I feel it is unfair to the driver who now has a black mark on his DAC record?

I don't mean to sound glib, but unfortunately, this is the way things work. Whether it is wrong or unethical is irrelevent. JB Hunt has a process for dealing with claims of this nature. They pay more on small claims because it is cheaper in the long run to settle them quickly without wasting time and money on legal fees determining liability.

It is understandable that you are upset over the difficulty this is causing in your search for a new job. But I don't think JB Hunt is intentionally trying to screw up your driving career. Sadly, it's just business.

well with all the bad stuf said about JB i will have to say i am a happy JB driver. this is the second time i have worked for them. the only reason i quit the first time is i bought my own truck and ran under my own auth. when i quit i took the truck to the dallas yard even know i was told to take it back to Lowell,AR and all they put on my DAC was i quit for unsatisfactory work condistions.
i worked for them for 1 year i ran 2500 to 3300 miles a week. and i was on the lease purchace. and i made 1000 to2000 a week.
im doing the same thing this time. been here 4 months and getting around the same miles. i found out if you dont turn down loads and do there little safety messages you will do just fine

sorry about the bad spelling im in a hurry :biggrin_2552:
