As a soon to be new employee this doesn't sound good about the transfers. No miles = no money and that doesn't make anyone happy. When I first began speaking with a JBS recruiter I was told six weeks out with a trainer and now as soon as I'm ready to head to orientation it has been changed to eight. I really do hope that they either change it back or compensate you trainers accordingly. It's hard enough to be out for six weeks at 300 a week but to bump it to eight is going to push a lot of good perspective drivers away. I agree with foxfire that if enough trainers quit training then they will have to do something like change it back to six weeks.

Perhaps there is a good reason for the change in training time !!!

I agree, the trainers need to be compensated accordingly. As for the trainees. a small increase in pay, its hard to live on $300.00 a week for 6 weeks, cant pay the bills and put food on the table.

Swaps aren't that bad as long as your getting miles out of them. Would rather have the miles and not have to deal with the shippers and rcvrs!!! Only bad thing about swaps tho, especially in my present company, is having to get the dang things worked on. Am in the shop now with a swap tlr. 3 bad hub seals, 2 shocks, and 2 marker lites. Sure cuts into the pillow time.
PS. Sure do hope JBS's trainers teach their students about doing proper PTI's!!!! -
Change of plans again, I am not swapping loads now. Gonna deliver at king Soopers in Denver after all!

My sympathies! I've been in there a few times and they were slooooow. That was a few years back though, maybe they've changed. -
I have been with this company for many years. I watched them work to get drivers, and it looks like a never ending job.But just last week it seems as though they have turned the corner.ALL new Freightliner Cascadias coming in August and October. They raised the pay and now a driver will be able to make .37 a mile or more easily. Now i sent in a buddy of mine to apply.....guess what.....he didnt qualify, seem with new trucks coming and a pay raise management can now be very pickey who they hire.....im glad i still have a job....my pay increased $100 a week. But i do know they are looking for 5 more drivers
