We are a team, nobody is slamming anyone. I'm making observations. Most places treat there seniority first, but it seems after looking at all these different companies. Most can care less about those who put in time, and are running them off. To pay less to the little guys.
I swapped with a guy with a brand new KW. I could tell he was new because he parked crooked.. The bumper was bent upwards on both sides of the truck, and I do believe it was his last day because he took his bags out the truck and somebody from hyrum office came and moved his truck.
I just don't think it makes much since the give a newbie out of training a brand new truck when you have older trucks they can get use and tear up. But this is not my company. I'm just an employee.
From reading threads on this site I have to Say JBS is the cream of the crop. From people being paid air miles and being charged for their bus ticket, and orientation. Man oh man. These major trucking companies have went down hill.
Snatcher I know you are new, and you have the opportunity to go otr if you wanted if the regional thing doesn't work out, but recently there has been a number of drivers complaining about it. I thank God for you bro, because you can take my chicago loads any day of the week brother.
I ran my butt off this week and I haven't ran like this in the year 1/2 I been here. So maybe freight is picking back up and it will go well for all of us. You have a good night. I know I will. DeucesMileHiBud Thanks this. -
Just to confirm what Hazmat Said,
Regional runs I would not get on a regional fleet, and I would not recommend anyone going regional at all.
Bottom line is this, in the last month I have helped 7 drivers I know who went regional get back on the OTR Fleet, between Darrin T, and having guys call the new OP Director to get off of regional due to a lack of miles. The bottom line is they offer the .45 or .46 per mile due to the fact that regional driver will not run more than 2k a week ever. The guys who are on the regional and like it live close to the terminals that host the regional fleets, Hyrum or Greenbay and they are happy with the money they make and are home every weekend they again LIVE close to the terminals that host the Regional fleets. Those who do not live close will not make it on regional.
Regional Fleets MidWest ( Based out of Greenbay) and Western 11 Based out of Hyrum. Were set up around two specific companies that JBS bought out, EA Miller, and Packerland. The drivers who are on those fleets making money have worked with the DM's who run those fleets.
I do not care what anyone says there is favortism shown on those fleets, I will in a hearbeat point out the DM's who do this to the new drivers in a hearbeat.
I have no bones about telling it like it is and if you do not like hearing the truth then you should not ask for the truth.
Regional is not where the money is unless you are happy taking home 500.00 a week if you are happy with this then congrats.
Me personally I am here for more than that.
Hazmat it kills me that the new people coming in Get new KW's no questions asked, I ask for a KW I get told no You will not get a new truck until next year sometime.
I also found out from Kerry today that in 2012 we will again get new PETE's and in 13 KW's something they have worked out with Paccar. So I guess I will have to wait until next year but this is getting old. The truck was in the shop in August for 7 days New EGR cooler, Valve, New Injectors, O-rings and Turbo. I left the shop and my fuel mileage is junk 5.8-6.2 max. truck pulls like it has no balls.
Kerry called the Cummins guy going ballistic (as you know Kerry is laid back so it was odd to see him raise his voice) but the problem is supposedly an easy fix according to Cummins.
I Just want to be able to run and not worry about putting in Anti-freeze every day.hazmat777 Thanks this. -
was doin pretty good myself this week had around 3000 miles sit'n on this load till freakn tuesday,,,,,enjoy your pete hazmatt ya dont have to tote DEF an have a tilt wheel ! lol wanna trade
hazmat777 Thanks this. -
Yeah, I wouldn't mind having one of those new KW's but messin' with that DEF makes me happy to have my Pete!
