I am a 60 year old guy trying to keep at if for a few more years so I am in CDL school now, to graduate iin two weeks. JBS offered me a job and they fly you to CO, no greyhound bus rides. The process was painless. I will say I applied at several companies and most or all were a real pain to get them everything they required. JBS offered me a job in 24 hours. They may not be the best paying in the industry but from what I see, how your treated is as important as a penny or two per mile.

I don't think companies care who gets the new trucks, they have so much money they don't care if a newbie goes out there and rips the bumper off on a curve. They just put it on their DAC and know that driver is eventually going to screw up again and off he goes. I had a newbie friend at TA, and shortly after I quit he was on I-83 in MD and ran off the road, lost control and laid his brand new T-660 over on the guard rail, totaled the truck, trailer, and the load going to PA.
Good luck getting a new truck if you have been at a company any amount of time!!! -
I have been reading you posts. It seems that you are kinda happy where you are at. I know as a new driver life WILL be hard for a while, but I am willing to do that. I will be testing on Sept 12th for my cdl. I hope my driver school is ok with Jbs. It is xtra mile driver training out of Bishopville Sc. I have looked alot and found Jbs and the Schneider the only 2 I might apply for. Thanks in advance for any info you might throw my way.

Maybe since they are trained in those trucks. They are more familiar with it. So they don't want to give them a different environment to confuse them even more. Just had a flashback of my training. Trained in a conventional, and got out of training and went into a cabover. Miss those days Yeeee haaaa. Hood who needs a stinking hood they just get in the way. Woop woop truck it up.
robz1017 Thanks this. -
1st of all we dont have a truck over 2 yrs old here....what are you guys #####in about....most co. trucks are much older....i am now on my 6th truck here in 3 yrs...drive what they give you...as for Doc.....well lets see if they get it fixed this time...if not i'm sure with your connections you can get a new one if ya want......look people, trucks brake down, some times they take a few shots to fix, anybody thats been driving for any amount of time knows this...
