Thats alright, I'm having the bad day for you!! Load was 6 hrs late coming out, then the reefer developed problems and had to get that fixed, and now I have a flat tire. Some days, it just doesn't pay to get out of bed!!!

    AMEN!

I'm in a motel in Memphis! Delivered at Kroger where they refused 4 cases due to damaged boxes (which came in handy later!) Pulled out of there, heard a wizz, saw smoke, pulled over, opened hood to see the A/C Compressor had cracked and was spewing green fluid everywhere!

Get to the KW dealer, checked in and asked how long? He said Mon or Tues............so I told him he was welcome to take the 4 cases of chicken in my trailer, a couple guys run out and grab the chicken.

He comes back in and says "you just moved to the front of the line! We will have you done by morning!"..................................:biggrin_25514:

Some days it pays to be hauling a refer!

I know I have a lot of questions on here and but there is so much to learn after training. I was down to 4 hrs on my 70 and was due to get 10 back the next morning. I put in for a 34 reset to do some wash and get some more hrs. I did this 2 days in advance of running out of hrs. My DM gives me a preplan preventing the reset. I called her and she said I am getting back enough hrs and that she doesn't like when drivers take a reset because she can't utilize them for 34 hrs. Who manages my hrs? Me or her? A reset is more then getting back hrs, its also about having some time to rest, do wash, and clean the inside of my truck. It sucks having to deal with the days you only gain 4-5 hrs back. I loose my ability to plan my trips to fit my needs. I am never late and get most loads in early, some up to a day early. How do you guys deal with this or is it just me. My DM has also set my PTA for me due to drop and hook loads. Last time she did this I got screwed when it wasn't a drop and hook (had to wait 16 hrs for the "hook").

PS: I ran hard and am doing my reset before my delivery in the morning due to so much time on this load.

Whoa there Shasta, relax. First off, it is your Driver MANAGER that decides when you run or take a 34. You are there to fit their needs not vice versa. As far as laundry goes you should have time to do it on your breaks at the truck stops. I carry enough so that I never have to worry about it until I get home. Cleaning out your truck can be done on those times you sit waiting on a load. YOU should be setting your PTA when you think you will be empty. Rest? This is truckin' brother, rest when you can and run when you have to get there. Sorry if I sound harsh, it's just the way I see it.
