DocRox Thanks this. -
That's normal company policy most places. Also if I remember correct they give you an extra 200.00 if they can't get you home for Christmas. I was stuck in Amarillo last Christmas, but that 200 bucks was right on time.

jlind, giants14701 and Tennessee Trucker Thank this. -
Scooby did you go back to work for evenson? Do you or anybody else know anything about high country transport? They are out of cortez co and dallas. If my doctor orders another sleep test this afternoon I'm outa here next thursday as I won't be able to get another dot phys without my study. I took one already and it cost me after insurance $1200.00. The nurse said she was sure I would have to have another 1 cause I didn't stay in RIM sleep long enough. BULLSHAT! Jbs said they wernt goin to reimburse me so after 1400 todayngood chance I'm lookin hard for new employment-or old employment with lone star milk.

I did 3 months with JBS and it is a great place for a new guy to cut his teeth and the GIGANTIC 10cpm per diem will come in handy on pay day.
The important thing to remember about per diem is that you are paying yourself (you are taking it out of your tax return and spreading it thru the year...but it's YOUR MONEY-- trucking companies just like to take the credit)
With JBS, though, I liked the insurance package-- miles didn't SUCK but they weren't the 2700 mi/week advertised -- new drivers could do worse for their second job... but remember in 2 years (if you kept your daq clean) it'll be time to look around for a career spot to move to. -
yes i left jbs a month ago, i dunno nothing about the cortez co, but most milk haulers seem to like it
-
You gettin better miles with evenson? I worked for lone star milk out of hereford for 2 yrs but the pay is low but the miles are over 3k every single week w/one day off. I want to haul frac sand but the reputable co's have no openings.
