Thats what I thought earlier until I read your previous post. I think putting all the trucks in one place and having them wait for JBS loads is entirely plausible, but pretty screwed up for the drivers. Like any other company, CYA is in full effect and planners, just like anyone else, will do so to protect their own jobs at the expense of drivers' paychecks.

I don't know about the huge pay day part. It doesn't equal out if you sit for hours on end. It would be ok if you roll in and the load was ready to go by the time you got there. But that's never the case. I just know lately its been *ell lately. I'm loosing my shirt sort of speaking. I know part of the issue was due to my old fleet manager. But the damage might already done to fix it. But we will see. I'm willing to give it till the first of the new year. But in the same time in december I'm going to start keeping track of my time sitting and miles. And just see how bad it really is.

Any of you guys in Leetsdale, PA today? Saw a JBS truck in the industrial park and couldn't help but think it might be one of you guys.

nope im out in marshalltown, iowa
. and from the way its looking im gonna be stuck being out on the road on turkey day. i find that a little annoying, only because almost all places are gonna be closed anyways so why have drivers sit out on the road. but that my thought.

I was with JBS for about a month. First driving job I had after getting my CDL. My trainer was a real piece of work and I couldn't take it any longer. It was either get off the truck or kill him and hide his body. I called the safety manager and HR a couple of times and it was as if they didn't care what was going on. We were coming through my home town with a load and I said "see ya" and got off the truck. I'm hauling fuel now making 70k a year. Home every night and on my days off. I was very disappointed with my experience there. I had high hopes and heard such good things about the company. I'm sure it would have been very different if I had some experience and didn't have to go out with a trainer. Plus who can live off 300 a week training pay for eight weeks?
tankerman1974 Thanks this. -
i lived off the 300 a week for 7 weeks and had two trainers. Both were great trainers but i had some issues with the first so i just switched. That being said i believe you made the right choice if your making 70k a year and home, you really cant beat that being a rookie in my opinion. Im just stating this so that other rookies interested in jbs know that it can be done you just gotta do what works for you. I also have a wife and two kids and the wife doesnt have much of a income but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I agree with you 100%. There were several things I did like about the company and I have no doubt that my experiences would have been very different had I come on as an experienced driver.
