We have had several drovers quit regional lately-there is 3 kw's and 3 petes out of about 20 trks sittin with no drvrs on east texas regional dedicated.the ones I know that quit said same thing"to many hours working,sittin gettin unld and having to live load at pikgrims" I know I can't continue to work 20 to 30 hrs a week for nothin

 

The travel plaza in Ft. Wayne, IN has one right across the street.

 

that's always the problem i had with otr, yes i know that's otr works.but i gave it up. any driver that can stay with it for year after year,truly deserves a major payraise.

 

hope you don't get attacked for you dreadful gripe maybe a cookie will cheer you up along with a glass of warm milk ......yeah the kind tankers haul across the state

 

Its not just the mega carriers either, tho their instructions come from "the almighty confuser" and no commen sense is allowed but, smaller carriers are going to it also. My 50 trk outfit uses it also. We are allowed to use commen sense tho and by pass fuel stops and reroute ourselves if needed.

Actually, there are 2 of them in Ft Wayne. If you look ahead and to your left, where you make the right turn to the trk stop, you'll see the other one. Haven't been to it yet.

 

i have come to the conclusion, here in the last few days. if people are happy to sit for hours on end so be it. if people dont mind being paid for the shortest distance and not be paid for practical miles so be it. thats on them, and i no longer care. all i know is when im not driving like now. here at a shipper in phoenix been here for 3 hrs so far waiting and waiting. i use my time to pull out the laptop and apply for a new job. i know i can make more money and i know my time is worth alot more then the non exsistant pay we get here. so im not here to complain no more if people like sitting and waiting and not be compensate thats there problem. all i know is i never had to have a tv here in my truck. but since pulling reefers i have a tv to help pass the time. in my previous jobs i never had time to sit somewhere and watch tv. i only ever got to watch tv once i got home

 

load cancelled ,another driver rewarded with it,to get home.so now i have to waste time watching t.v. ,,,,the winners tomorrow packers-cowboys -and the home team ravens.....would of driven all night and slept 5 hrs. then watch the games afterwards sleep 8 hrs and drove into stop for fri delivery

 

soon i will have more seniority than 1/2 the fleet by my 1 yr anniversary? oh well i'll be here hopefully for another year afterwards

bummer i had inquired about that regional but 400 mile radius and 2 loads daily !!! come on that plan won't and is 'nt working it seems
