It's not DOT mandated and only some companies require it. If you are planning on going to a company that requires it then you know ahead of time.

my point to the sleep study is this.... ok i have sleep apnea supposedly, now with that said jbs office jockey's now have declared me as a unsafe driver...thats the part that i dont agree with.. i have been on tankers for 7-8 years prior to the reefer crap. and i have driven tankers that were well over 80,000 lbs and as well as legal 80,000 weights..and i have never ever fell asleep, or have accident or a spill..my alertness is very good when im driving and working...when im tired i find a hole and goto sleep... this is something you newbies will learn over time..its not something that you learn overnight...so yea this sleep apnea is crap and is a big scam...i agree wit the poster that wrote that all truck drivers ought to be tested not just certain drivers...if it was truely all about safety all drivers should have to get the study done...but since its not, i think its a scam..by the way thanks to insurance that i do have..the first sleep study was $2,800 bucks and the 2nd study was $880 so theres a $3680 bill, my part is $300 for the first test and my part on the 2nd test is $80. so know not only being out of work for a bull@hit policy i have now no work and occured a $380 bill... i dont see jbs paying for that..after all if its all in the eyes of safety, i think jbs should cover all of the bills.. but they wont do that..but anyways, i have stated my point here.. the guys that get it understand and the guys that dont will never understand...:biggrin_25524:

Ok newbies a truck just came available. Never broke down and has a APU. If you drive it right you can get up to 7.1 to 7.3 mpg. Not much of a bonus for the fuel routing. Just had a service done too so it is ready for the road. As tankerman said I know what I am worth and I am going back to companies that will pay me as such. Just for the guy that ask, they do not take on newbies. Much have the exp. before you apply. Later JBS drivers. It has been a blast. I hope you all have a good new your.

Hey cmon now not all newbies are bad :) lol anyways everyone was a newbie at sometime. I gotta take the sleep apnea test as well within the next two months. I must say when ur trying to provide for a family that u see 3 days every 3 weeks , having to go see a doc about some bs sleep apnea isnt as easy as it sounds. Goodluck to you guys that are leaving jbs hope 2012 has something better for ya.
