Glad to hear somebody lucked out there. Picking up in Marshalltown and my DM is heading me home right on schedule. I didn't get blown over by the tornados, it stopped rainin' and I'm not in Gainesville,,, life is good!

Made it to Calvert City, KY. Coming through Nashville the Southbound lanes were shut down as a Skateboard rolled over going around the curve, pipes were everywhere! Hope he is OK!

 

HA! Even though they started loading that trailer before I got there I was still there for 4 HOURS!

 

I made a mistake. I did not put the quote in my response. It was from around page 50, from said angry guy, who ended up being banned. I have read every page of this thread, and I would like to personally thank HarleyManJax and Doc for their input! I am a new grad of Fox Valley Tech, and just applied to JBS, as per Harley's recommendation. It is sooo refreshing to read constructive input..... I hope I will be accepted, as I will choose JBS. I have offers from Knight Reefer, Gordon, and all the mill companies....Schneider, Swift..... I am looking forward to getting started with a respectable company. Once I get on board, I am in it for the long haul, whatever the politics may be.

Hey Doc/HarleyMan..

How far west does JBS run? Ever get out to CA? Oregon? WA?

 

Well I have been off the big road for 7 years or so and just got hired on with JBS. I am due to fly up there next Monday and process in. Thought maybe some people might be interested in how it all goes as seen through a Drivers eye. So far they have been very helpful, helping me get over some speed bumps getting my background together and some meds I was taking. The recruiter I am working with is a very nice and helpful guy and will bend over backwards to help a good safe driver get on with this company. Whatever they are paying him is not enough. I have heard that Jbs has had problems in the past, but they are really trying to get it right now. I will see. I have been out there too many years in the past to believe every thing I hear. Stay tuned and we will see together. So far so good and I hope it stays that way. Bags are packed and I am looking forward to getting back out there and see all the ways first hand the trucking world has changed, both good and bad. Any way just thought maybe some of you guys might want to follow me through. Who knows you might get a few good laughs out of it. I'm sure I will. Next stop ( The flight up there.) Hear I have to take my boots off. God help those folks!
