JBS Carriers: Stay Away!

    If your planning on driving for or are interested in driving for JBS Carriers, I strongly recommend that you stay away from this company. I recently left this job due to the outright incompetence that was demonstrated to me repeatedly by the office personel. I was told when I got hired that I would see at least 3000 miles per week. I was lucky if I got 1700. Most of the time I sat in truckstops waiting for a load or babysitting one that I was under. The so-called driver managers that you work with are obsessed with getting you under a load only to have you sitting days to unload because the appointment is so far out. If you ask for layover pay you better be ready to remind them over and over and over to pay you for it cause payroll never ever reimburses you the 1st few times you tell them. I think they hope you forget about it so they don't have to pay you. Then if you get the joy of loading out of their greeley co plant, you might get in on Mon but not load till wed or Thursday. Then you get to sit there that whole time for free. In your truck. But don't you dare idle your truck to stay cool. Cause if your idle time goes over a certain percentage your going to lose 2 cpm. Home time? Maybe once every 6 weeks if your lucky. How's the pay you ask? 40cpm. Sounds good huh? To bad they pay you shortest route. Plus averaging 1500 miles per week makes your pay check pretty pathetic. Also take out all the reimbursements they forget to add on to your check. Need to talk to someone in the office? Good luck with that. Voice mail is the preferred mode of communication. Be prepared to leave a lot of them. Maybe someone will get back to you. Then again maybe not. Maybe if you use the Qualcomm. Nope same result. I can go on and on but I would think you got the idea by now.

    A-MEN brother. I agree with all you have said. They think communication is them telling you what you need to do. Got a fleet message today with payroll griping about the way paperwork that has been transflo'd is turned in. Guess they have nothing else to do, but complain.

    They must not like You!! Cause I work for JBS and they treat me just fine, if I call they answer and if I do need to leave a message they return my calls. I will have great benifits soon. Also JBS owns alot of meat plants and they just bought Pilgrims Pride. So my exprience has been great so far. I guess you can't please everyone all the time. I really had to search for someone to say anything negative about JBS unlike say Stevens,Swift,Werner and so on. I will be looking for the next company that you complain about.

    I wouldn't be even worried about the op. He's only posted twice both about jbs and hasn't done anything else since last year. One of those one post wonders.

    I've been driving now for 25yrs.. I have a son that has informed me that he want's to go to truck driving school. I've tried to talk him out of it but I can not. He wants me to train him and run team for a couple of years to get some good experience. I work for Dana Transport and they do not hire people straight out of school. I have been looking for a company to go but have not found one yet. I talked to JBS today and they sound really good. I found this web site and I'm learning alot. Is JBS a good company or not????? I'm really confused. I guess I'll keep looking. Any suggestions???

    I've been driving for 25yrs.. My son has informed me that he wants to go to truck driving school. I can not talk him out of it. I work for Dana Transport and you have to have 2yrs. experience to work here. I found JBS and they sound really good. I also found this web site and I'm hearing a different story. Are they a good company or not????? Any other suggestions????

    Here's the scoop on J.B.S. Carriers.....

    Don't know what they were like 10 years ago, 5 years ago, or even last Wednesday as that was when I was in orientation and that is also the day that their C.E.O. was fired and replaced.....

    J.B.S. is trying to become an ELITE carrier and is moving very fast in becoming one....

    They are firing everyone who does NOT meet or exceed their "NEW" expectations and in doing so you get a little confusion between departments but it's still NOT as bad as many if not most carriers today... In return for the confusion you will get HONESTY and RESPECT matched by no other company I've worked for or attended orientation with and that is 15 orientations with big named companies and 10 driving jobs......12 years experience driving BIG trucks........

    I am getting paid .46cpm but OTR pays .30cpm after completing 8 weeks training at $300/wk if you are straight out of school....at your one year anniversary you jump from .30cpm to .33cpm then .01 a year after.....

    Training is 4 weeks out, home, then 4 weeks out running solo miles with a trainer....Trainees are NOT going to be taken advantage of at this company and the trainers who train must be willing to do it for the "RIGHT" reasons, to "TRAIN", NOT "ABUSE FOR PERSONAL GAIN"....

    J.B.S. is an EXCELLENT company and the posts on here that are negative or the negative drivers are from the past, NOT the present or the future of J.B.S. Carriers.....
