Can't speak from personal experience but was talking to 1 of their drivers the other day. He used to be an O/O but ttkr was to old to be hired by companies today. He was very happy with them as a company driver and said he was making more there than as an O/O. Said starting pay for 2 yrs experience was 40 cents a mile and I think 8 cents was per diem. Trks are set up so that they will not idle between 30 and 80 degrees. Also said that the miles were good and that he was averaging 2800 a week.
Don't know how true all this was but there ya go.

jbs the reefer meat hauler, used to be Packerland transport- they have there own slauter houses. When they were Packerland drivers rarely quit, a Spain co. called jbs bought them out. That day the drivers took a huge pay cut, I would stay away from them. I talked to someone internally there, and they told me don,t ever expect detention pay, and what is it after 4 hrs. 10.00 per hr., drivers I talked to say they sit along time between loads. A joke comparred to what Packerland was. There,s better choices, good luck.

 

I just left there...after 4 months. It was a fight to get home after being out for almost a month. I was told "we can't guarantee home when you say you need to be". After letting them know a month in advance??? They had other things in the works regarding pay and that...do yourself a favor and call Schneider...

 

Hubby currently works for them..its decent..but your pay goes by how many years experience. They just started doing paperless logs last week. Home time is about once a month. Benefits are AMAZING. But he is looking to leave to be home more...

 

Also in regards to the starting pay. My husband had less than two years experience started out at .25 c a mile plus the .08 per diem. Now he is at .28 plus the .08. Detention pay is iffy...you really have to press the issue. If you get stuck at the Greeley yard..prepare to sit for DAYS..w/no pay. Hubby averages about 4500-5000 every two weeks. It would be better if he actually didnt sit for over a day waiting for a load...or getting stuck in Greeley. Once his truck broke down in the midwest in the winter..he was out of work for a week. Also..you have to watch your paystubs to make sure your reimbursed for your receipts. Holiday pay is at one year mark..and its a percentage of yearly income...his was about 1500, but they add that to current paycheck..so its taxed alot. Downsides..are waiting for loads, and not being home..and now paperless logs. But..upside is benefits are great..Good luck...

 

Jbs is the worst or one of the worst companies you can work for. They have zero communication from driver to load planner. The only way you can get anyone to talk to you is through your Qualcomm and then that's a maybe. Your sitting hours if not days at truckstops babysitting loads that you won't get layover pay for. You may have to sit for 3 or more days at their plants waiting to get loaded. They pay you shortest route miles which usually leaves you losing out of 15 percent of pay you should have. I drove for them for 8 years I was very happy till Jbs came in and ruined packerland transport. Now they have paperless logs and forget about hometime. You'll be lucky if you see home in 6 weeks. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Trust me, you'll be much happier almost anyplace else.

 

Hubby worked there for a few years...Payroll was a mess in the beginning.. You have to BEG for layover pay. Dont get sent into Colorado..b/c you will sit at the plant for 2-5 days...Really eats up a good paycheck. Just when you hit 3000 miles..and have a week left in the pay period..you get sent to the yard..It is very difficult to budget your bills working for them. Hubby could get home when he needed to ...but would have to run like hell to do it...then came the qualcom logs...and thats a mess! Stay away from them!!
