Can't unload early? Hmmm.... O, that's right.... Door swingers. Ha-ha lol. I get loaded/unloaded usually within 30 minutes.
You ain't getting unloaded as early as you want either... How many times in the last couple weeks have you stated that you are parked outside a fence or gate waiting for a customer to open? These "haha reefers sit and wait" posts every other day are getting old. I guarantee we are logging less on duty time at a customer than you... unless you can secure and tarp a load faster than us backing in n out and "swinging doors" You made some post the other day about people not respecting what you do as a flatbedder... Maybe it's the superior flatbed attitude "oozing" from your posts... Aren't you about five minutes from "crow barring" another smug statement about how you are in a Condo and soooo glad you aren't in a lightweight? If not someone should be along shortly with a question about upgrade or truck selection to give you another opportunity.
Take a joke will ya. Yall mess with me constantly, I get to do it back. I get there early on purpose so I can get a break in, and I'm here when they open so I can get unloaded before anyone else
IP, UW, Hwy101 - I personally agree with you. I don't think that squeezing in a load is going to work. I was just answering whoever's post about "I'd rather get in another load at 65mph". Over the coarse of a year, the fuel savings alone are pretty astronomical.
ORD... Please continue to be you on this forum. You are one of the nicest persons I have ever met online. I personally enjoy your repartee and banter with all of us.
One thing IP forgot to mention in his informative post was headwinds. In a strong headwind I'll drop it down to 52-54 MPH. I'll shut her down for a bit if I have the time. You will burn a lot of fuel trying to fight the wind. Good trip planning is also essential. Looking ahead at the weather and planning around any nastiness, when possible, will not only avoid headaches but help with keeping your MPGs up. Trained by U2, I basically mimic his driving style (now that I know how to shift!) and have averaged 7.86 for the year. That's over $3400 in fuel bonus, so it does pay off. Oh yeah, and stay off "The Official Ironpony (not yet memorial) Goat Trail!"
He can't have it both ways. He can joke, but then he needs to get off his high horse and stop claiming disrespect for what he does as a flatbedder. He can't play thread police on "his" thread when the discussion is off topic and then a day later hijacks a thread on Pay with his Florida trials and tribulations. So now he's on his cross, a mayrtr, because I called him out.
yea i know the place im going to wont take me in any more thn an hour prior to appt. so sitting here at prime for a while, will get about halfway tonight then make the last bit tomorrow.
We'll skip last week, and call this week "Week 6". Due to the holiday craziness, things didn't go quite like we wanted, and he his dispatch was for Sunday (not Sat) and didn't deliver until 2030 on Tuesday. No paycheck for the "real" week 6. I did, however, get a new hot water heater, and can now take a hot shower. Home20 - Springdale, AR - Gas City, IL 776 miles Gas City, IL - Champaign, IL - Union City, GA 828 miles (PLUS LO pay from Hershey dinking Prime around on the original load assignment) Atlanta, GA - repower to Bridgeton, MO - 592 miles Hoping for a short hop from St. Louis to SpringMo, but he'll be at SpringMo for his APU/Deerguard appt on the 6/7.
