How pathetic have we become? or I should say how pathetic we have allowed this country to become like this... People just need to grow up AND LEARN TO DEAL WITH THINGS... Cry babies are turning this country into a joke...
Ducks, rjones56, Cybergal and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's funny how they say his outfit was distracting but yet some of these teenaged girls are wearing lowcut tops that are so low you can see their belly button and cleavage is flying all over the place!! Don't know about you but that seem alot more distracting than a Jesus costum?

But I'm sure a devil costume would be allowed . Isn't that a Biblical figure also ? ACLJ ought to be all over this . http://www.aclj.org/Cases/
Don't these school officials realize they will end up on national news and face the expense of legal action ? -
It amazes me how these local schools just don't get it. According to numerous Supreme Court decisions the school must remain neutral. They cannot encourage nor discourage Christian expression and this would seem to be a clear violation of that legal doctrine. I have not seen one of these cases yet where the school eventually won. Our wonderful news media never does the follow up but if you do enough research you find the schools either lose in court or end up settling out of court. The federal government even has material to guide local schools and authorities on what is and is not allowed.
With Christmas coming we will see a whole host of reports like this. The Supreme Court has said that singing Christian carols is allowed if more secular songs are also part of the program. Our local grade school does an annual Christmas concert. Each grade sings three songs, two secular and one Christian. This has been held to follow the federal quidelines. The first amendment is clear that government cannot be antagonistic to religious practice. -
I ask this question in all sincerity.
Would Jesus seek out a lawsuit for this?
-
Would an apostle seek a trial before the rulers to determine if charges against him were just ?
-
Is that really the same thing?
I'm not trying to start an argument here. Again, I'm asking in all sincerity.

The costume is clearly a horrible idea and offensive ,but the school has no right to say what costume a child wears...

Around here they don't do Halloween in school, the funny part is because its a religious holiday which it isn't LOL
Also it is wrong to use Gods name in vain
So wouldn't dressing up as Jesus for a holiday with pagan origins be just as disrespectful;
