I try not to book the truck out to far in the week have missed some realllllllllllllly good paying loads for some good loads in the last few weeks, We have a regular run we do early in the week and the just fill in the rest of the week with little short runs.

Looked at Roanoke VA run yesterday 569 miles rate $4.97 just couldn't stomach the $1.70 a mile out lol and JJ would have stuck up there until Tuesday.

Sounds as if she knows what she is doing on this load planning. She should get paid to do this for some.

Lady K and jess-juju Thank this.

No doubt Jess could dispatch trucks and do it well. She does it every day as a matter of routine. Thing is her and John understand what they are looking for and need. They have an essential trust which is necessary for things to go smoothly. Most drivers will not have that for someone dispatching them. When you find somebody that doesn't question your every decision or not want loads you book for stupid reasons, better take care of that driver. Because it would be a rare thing. In fact more than likely a driver like that would probably decide to take over their own dispatch after a while. If I ever dispatched anyone the first time I got questioned on why so much deadhead, or I don't like going there, or i'm 15 minutes short on hours and can't make it (after accepting the load already!!) would be the last that person would ever hear from me. You'd only want drivers that did as you dispatched without question. Sort of a needle in the haystack kind of thing.

And she knows the driver side of the business. Most dispatchers could care less about the drivers point of view.

Most dispatchers can hide behind the computer and phone, but her driver comes home and she has to live with him.
