I worked at prime inc flatbed and became a trainer. Did that 1.5 years till may 2018 and then gas hauled tanker work till 04 2019. So over 2 years experience. My mom got stage 4 lung cancer so i took some time off to spend with her and family and help with dr appointments. Now that its been over 6 months prime wont take me back unless i go threw training again. 25000 miles with trainer. #### that. Will someone hire me? I wanted to go OTR and just put my head in work. Make money. Please if anyone knows any company that will give me a shot lmk. I have clean MVR and current medical card with hazmat and tanker. I also live in south but will work anywhere. And stay out for weeks at a time.

Put your resume on Indeed and Ziprecruiter. Do searches on those sites for “CDL A driver” in your preferred area. Then start applying. Call them a day or two after submitting an application. Within a month, you should be on the road again. The way you asked the question, it’s like you doubt being hirable. Get that out of your mind. You are a professional truck driver. You didn’t lose your job. You didn’t make any mistakes. So, be confident and get that next OTR job.

I just thought most places would require "recent" experience.

The experience requirements vary from one company to the next. Apply even if you think you don’t qualify, if you like what the company offers. Be ready to sell yourself.

Plenty of companies will hire you without treating you like you're a rookie.
Are you in Texas? @WakeUpTheEchoes posted; apply anywhere you want, even if you don't think they'll hire you.
Submit the online applications before calling. Submit the application, then tomorrow, call and ask ,,"I'm checking on my job application."
Abilene has hired drivers that have been off the road 15 or twenty years, but kept their cdl.
