Hey everyone, I’m in a frustrating spot and could use some advice.
Three months ago, I signed up for CDL school with the agreement to work for Danny Herman. They checked all my boxes: western routes, mentorship, no hair follicle test, no driver-facing cameras, the ability to live in the truck, and the flexibility to take my scheduled days off along the route.
After going into debt, quitting my job, and moving in with family, they pulled the job offer a week before my start date without even telling me why. My school is now pushing me toward Landair, which isn’t OTR and doesn’t meet my goals. I start Monday, but I’m not happy about being pushed into something I didn’t choose.
I'm based in East Tennessee w/ my CDL-A, and my goals are:
Does anyone have experience with Landair, or know of other companies that might better fit what I’m looking for? Also, if I do go with Landair, how long should I stay before I can move on?
- OTR routes out west
- Living in the truck
- No Driver Facing Cameras
- Ability to take my scheduled days off along the route
- No hair follicle tests
Thanks for any advice!

Eddiec Thanks this.

Personally, I'd stay far away from Landair

Here are some companies you can try - but a word of caution, some companies who DO NOT do hair folicle testing may consider your refusal or avoidance to hire on with one that does, a red flag, and round file your application or just simply cut off communications with you.
