I would be classified as a job hopper. I am currently working in the West Texas oil fields moving rigs. I have been out here about 7 months. I originally only planned on staying out here a year, but he money is incredible, so I will most likely stay longer. Any way back to the job hoppping subject. I have been driving 13 years and in those 13 years I have had 7 jobs. I have a spotless driving record no accidents and no moving violations and 1.7 million safe miles. My csa score is good. So in this day and age I have no issues EVER getting a job for being a job hopper. My record speaks for it self. Keep your driving record clean and you can be a job hopper if you choose. Just my .02

Still at the same job, one year on night shift and then I moved to days but a Tue-Sat schedule, one more year and I got weekends off.
I start at 06:00 now Mon-Fri and an occasional Sat,usually 12hours a shift and always home every night,made $52K last year. -
The way most drivers gauge a companies worth ( or should anyway ) is the driver retention rate. If company A has drivers with 10 years or more in , and also has a couple with 20 + years , they're worth looking at. Company B doesn't have a driver with more than 2 years in.... Something is way wrong... I'm guessing you're a compnany B type guy. Since the fella told you to go pound sand and put his daughter 1st.ChaoSS, rocknroll81 and Y2K Thank this. -
I ran into this situation last week. Out here in the oilfields and I just started calling around to see what was available around san antonio in case things went bust. Anyhow...
I submitted my resume to this place called cpc logistics for what seemed like a decent paying, physical (touch freight) gig.
Called to follow up and the woman who was handling the recruitment process says "looks like you are a job hopper." I didn't argue and explained that the only reason I was currently looking for work was to see what was available in case the oilfields went bust, yada yada.
She then continued to inform me that "a lot of other drivers have already applied" and basically tried to discourage me from continuing the process since the hiring manager doesn't like job hoppers.
She asked if I wanted her to email me the application anyway and I kindly and professionally replied that I would indeed like her to send me that.
Hung up the phone, saw the email and forgot about it since it turned out the application had to be printed (don't have a printer). Didn't really think much about it.
That Friday she calls back (two days after the application was due back and one day after I was told interviews with the hiring manager would take place) and wanted to know if I had gotten a chance to get the application filled out and that the hiring manager could interview me the following Thursday if everything checks out.
I kind of chuckled and told her that since she said a lot of other drivers had already applied that I would be better off spending my time and energy looking for another company to take my two years experience and perfect driving record to.

I mean she had "a lot" of drivers lined up for interviews... If your calling me, Mr job hopper, back then I guess "a lot" of drivers must not have worked out for you.
Who WANTS to unload trucks for walgreens anyhow?!

I've walked away from from my fair share of jobs. Always had a reason for it though that I considered valid enough. Sad truth is there are a lot of crappy driving jobs out there, for one reason or another, and it's hard to know if one is sometimes until you give it a shot. And if you're the kind of guy that doesn't suffer fools, liars or general nonsense that you KNOW is unnecessary, you might blow through a few loser jobs or company's before you gain enough experience to know which ones are worth sticking with for awhile and which ones you run from.
